Tierra Rejada Ranch was founded in 1935 by Monroe Everett. His grandfather, Aratus Everett was one of the earliest ranchers in the Moorpark area arriving in 1889. In the early years the farm produced many different "dry land" crops such as barley, blackeye peas, and lima beans. After Monroe discovered water, he started growing tomatoes and developing walnut, valencia orange and avocado orchards. Tierra Rejada Ranch's Walnut Grove is snuggled in a pristine valley between the cities of Thousand Oaks and Moorpark. The property covers over 120 acres of prime Southern California land. Typical hot summer daytime temperatures are mild because of gentle ocean breezes from the west. Activities may be located in full sun, in the shade of tall 100' eucalyptus or under 50 year-old walnut trees planted by Monroe himself. In 1991 the Walnut Grove area was constructed and opened by hosting fund-raisers for the Moorpark Rotary Club. Since that time there have been hundreds of events ranging from weddings to corporate picnics and family reunions. The guests enjoy the chance to be out in the country on a real working farm. The peaceful atmosphere, the towering eucalyptus trees, and the adjacent creek all combine to provide a unique and private location for special occasions. Every effort has been made to accommodate the needs of guests and clients and yet still retain the character and feel of a genuine southern California ranch.

Broken Spanish is a documentary that follows the development of its chef, Ray Garcia. Combining the classically trained chef who was born and raised in Los Angeles with the powerful influence of a Latin upbringing, the result is a unique culinary experience. Broken Spanish draws its inspiration and flavors from a diverse range of sources to create an experience that is one-of-a-kind, distinctive, and visually stunning. Broken Spanish demonstrates Chef Ray Garcia's distinct culinary perspective while also making a significant contribution to the world's abounding culinary heritage. Flavors that are both bold and refined are used to express the cuisine. Finished dishes are presented in a contemporary manner while preparations demonstrate elements of long-established tradition. Garcia, a native Angeleno, draws his culinary inspiration from the city's rich culture, the abundance of fresh produce available in Southern California, and his classical training. Garcia, who was previously the chef de cuisine at Fig for six years, now has his own, fully matured style that is bright, bold, and ingredient-driven. Established in 1915 by Italian immigrant, Cesar Menotti, Townhouse is the oldest bar in Venice and one of the oldest bars in the Los Angeles area. Townhouse's live entertainment basement, The Del Monte, was a true speakeasy during Prohibition (1920-1933) and a night-life nucleus, serving many nefarious and infamous characters of the day, masked cleverly by Menotti's grocery store above. Underneath the rows of produce was a trap door and dumbwaiter that could bring down two guests at a time. Alcohol was brought in by boats from Canada and then smuggled via underground tunnels. Once Prohibition ended in 1933, a staircase was added. Today both floors serve hand-crafted cocktails from the golden age of drinking with classic bartending techniques and know-how and offer a fine library of world-class spirits, beer, and wine. The Del Monte features the crème de la crème of live entertainment including live music, djs, comedy and burlesque, five to seven nights per week.
