American Spirit works includes our neighbors, a fully functioning Whiskey distillery, a covered breezeway overlooking the distillery, a 3000-square foot courtyard with retractable sunroof and our 10,500 square foot event space. The historic Georgia Freight Depot is a rustic event venue in the Capitol Hill district of downtown Atlanta. With over 12,000 square feet of open space, the event site can accommodate up to 1,300 guests, or be tailored for smaller, more intimate gatherings. Expansive brick walls, exposed concrete floors, sliding barn-style doors for natural light, and ceilings that rise to over 18 feet; this versatile venue is ideal for all types of special events, including weddings, trade shows, corporate meetings, ​and celebrations.

Purchased by an Atlanta couple from the family estate after the youngest daughter Cara’s death in 1996, the home was a small bed and breakfast for some years. In 2007, Barb Shadomy purchased Stonehurst after discovering it while in England studying interior and garden design. For 17 months, Barb and her team of architects and contractors, specialists in historic and eco-friendly systems, renovated and restored the home and its gardens. The house meets standards set by the US National Park Service, the GA State Historic Preservation Office, Southface and EarthCraft House. Our historic property features beautiful indoor and outdoor locations for intimate ceremonies and receptions including our music room by the grand piano and fireplace or outside by the pavilion.
