The Bell House is a two-room music and events venue located in Brooklyn, New York. The main room has a 25-foot-high wooden, vaulted ceiling, and a 450-square-foot stage which makes The Bell House ideal for various performances, large gatherings, weddings, and celebrations. THE HISTORY OF THE BELL HOUSE The Bell House, a state-of-the-art 8,000 square foot facility with a separate performance space and lounge, is centrally located between Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. Constructed in the 1920s from an old printing factory and boasting an 88 foot long and 25 foot high magnificent wooden barrel vault ceiling, The Bell House has quickly established itself as a major center for arts and entertainment in Brownstone Brooklyn. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as a National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site — the Barnes family sheltered freedom seekers in the basement and carriage house and hosted prominent abolitionist figures including Rev. Samuel Joseph May, Garrett Smith, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. The George and Rebecca Barnes Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, assumed stewardship in 2009 and maintains the property as both a museum and a venue for private events.
