The Museum is 50 miles from Philadelphia, Allentown, and Princeton, and 100 miles from New York City. Doylestown and adjacent New Hope both have a lot of attractions. Because of its position, it serves as an ideal gathering spot for families and businesses that are distributed over the Mid-Atlantic region. A inviting space appropriate for cocktail hours is the Grand Entry Hall. The terrace garden is a charming and serene location for charming wedding ceremonies and may also be used as a laid-back area for cocktail hour. The event pavilion, which has all-glass walls and access to galleries and a sculpture garden, is the ideal location for sit-down receptions, dinners, and dances. Appleford is one of Pennsylvania's most romantic venues. This historic Pennsylvania estate is located on 24 beautiful acres in Villanova, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Philadelphia's Main Line. Drive down the long pine-lined driveway to ponds, a waterfall, manicured gardens and an alee of trees in this arboretum and bird sanctuary. The estate has been used as a wedding venue creating lasting memories for more than 50 years. Facilities and Capacity The flagstone terrace directly in front of the house is tented from April-November and can accommodate 200 guests for seating. The gardens complete the Appleford experience. Wooded acres envelop the property with gardens surrounding the estate for your cocktail hour and enjoyment. Gardens off the terrace include the walled/perennial garden and the rose garden with a small fountained pond. Behind the home is a beautiful boxwood maze enhanced with statuary, the Medallion garden, the alee of Chinese dogwood trees, and the greenhouse. Large wedding ceremonies typically occur by the waterfall and weeping willow trees directly in front of the estate. The use of the house consists of; the Music Room, the Pine Room, the Dining Room, the Kitchen, and a Groom’s lounge. There is also a Bride’s bedroom suite for use on the second floor and the Puppy House (small den) adjacent to the first floor off the outside reception area used to drop off your décor and other items the morning of your event. The house is air-conditioned, however the reception, for the most part - especially seating - would be outside on the terrace. Appleford also has a piano and three gas fireplaces on the first floor of the house to add to the charm and ambiance of your event. Cuisine Appleford clients may select a caterer from an exclusive list of eight caterers: Catering By Design, Feastivities Events, Feast Your Eyes, John Serock Catering, Perfect Setting Catering, Sage Catering. Seedling & Sage, and 12th Street Catering. These caterers provide a complete setup and breakdown for weddings and receptions. If alcohol is being served, clients can provide their on alcohol (a cost savings) with the bartenders provided by the caterers. Set on the second-highest peak in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Drumore Estate is a 66-acre private estate built in 1938 for newspaper magnate John F. Steinman and designed by architect Robert R. McGoodwin as a 16,000-square-foot Georgian mansion. The grounds include manicured lawns, formal gardens, woodlands, fountains, and pools, with views stretching across the Susquehanna River Valley — a setting couples often choose for both ceremony and portraits. The estate offers several event spaces to suit different celebrations. The formal garden serves as the setting most couples choose for their ceremony, with the Grand Tent, Carriage House, and Ballroom as climate-controlled or covered alternatives for a reception, dance floor, or backup ceremony space. The Grand Tent accommodates up to 400 guests and is typically available from mid-April through mid-November, while the Carriage House and Ballroom provide year-round, climate-controlled options for smaller weddings and events. A fully-furnished bridal suite and groom's lounge inside the mansion give the wedding party a place to prepare on the day of the event. Drumore Estate provides full-service, in-house catering along with an Event Planner/Facilitator and Event Manager who assist with menu selection, layout, and vendor coordination, and who handle setup and teardown. Couples receive exclusive use of the property on their wedding day. Since December 2025, the estate has been under the stewardship of Eric and Jerissa Warfel, who continue the tradition of hospitality established by the Steinman family and, later, by longtime owners Bill and Karyn Regitz.
