The 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA is a square-rigged iron barque, restored in 1982 and now a floating museum that still actively sails — one of only three ships of her kind in the world to do so. Berthed at the Galveston Historic Seaport, she is a National Historic Landmark and the Official Tall Ship of Texas, a symbol of the Gulf Coast's beginnings as a seaport that welcomes more than 40,000 visitors each year. For private events, the ship and museum site offer a romantic waterfront setting, with moonlight silhouetting the masts. Guests have access to ELISSA's decks, galleries, officers' quarters, and galley — used as a serving area or bar — along with the museum's pier, galleries, and restrooms. The site accommodates up to 500 guests across the ship and museum, or 300 for a seated dinner on the pier, making it well suited to weddings, receptions, and social gatherings. All functions are catered, as no kitchen facilities are on site.
