The glitter of 22-karat gold greets visitors to the China Cabin, once the elegant social saloon of the PS China, giving them a glimpse of the old-world luxury and attention to detail that first-class passengers enjoyed when the ship first sailed from its home port of San Francisco. The Cabin consists of a large room and two small staterooms. Its plain exterior belies the ornate and regal appointments inside. The walls and arched ceiling are panels of elaborately decorated wood that have been painted a crisp white and highlighted with gold leaf. Along the sides of the Cabin are a series of small, delicately etched glass windows; handsome crystal chandeliers hang at each end of the room. The Cabin also has decks on three sides that have wonderful views of the San Francisco skyline and of the colorful boats berthed at the nearby yacht harbor. Nestled in the hills of Sunol, surrounded by vineyards and gardens, is Elliston Vineyards. As guests drive up the quiet road to Elliston Vineyards, they are greeted with the impressive site of our Neo-Romanesque mansion, while our staff awaits their arrival at our wrought-iron gates. Garden-style ceremonies are held outdoors alongside our historic stone mansion in a garden brimming with native ora including an expansive lawn and gazebo. Vineyards and wine barrels surround the ceremony, while a gorgeous hundred-year tree provides shade for guests. A short walkway takes you to our Terrace Room, a secluded banquet room set into the hillside. Cocktail hour is enjoyed on the outdoor patio.
