The U.S. National Whitewater Center sits on a 1,300-acre campus along the Catawba River in Charlotte, North Carolina, built around the world's largest man-made whitewater river. The outdoor recreation destination doubles as an event venue, pairing more than 40 outdoor activities — rafting, zip-lining, and team-building courses among them — with a range of indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, corporate gatherings, and private events. Couples can marry at South Ridge, a forest amphitheater with hand-crafted wooden seating atop the gorge, or in the timber-frame Overlook Barn, which overlooks the whitewater river from decks on both levels. The Wharf, a 150-year-old barn with a stone fireplace, and Ridge Pavilion, an open-air space with farm tables and its own fireplace, offer additional settings for receptions and events. Conference rooms and the North Conference Center provide climate-controlled indoor space for meetings and corporate functions. Full-day rentals include day passes, farm table seating, complimentary parking, and a microphone and PA system, with an onsite culinary team providing catering and beer and wine service for private events.

For decades, our family has farmed and ranched in southern Oklahoma. With deep roots in the community, we've held a number of events in the neighborhood throughout the years. We were grabbing at straws for sites to host an engagement party, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinner when we scheduled a large family wedding in January of 2015. There were few and far between possibilities. We knew we weren't the only ones who felt this way! The necessity for new venues to serve Ardmore, Madill, Tishomingo, and the surrounding area was discussed and debated at that time. We thought we might have just the property after some brainstorming and a lot of imagination. The transformation of the existing horse barn into The Stables at Washita Farms has been a true labor of love. Every member of our immediate family has been involved in the decision-making process, and many hours of physical labor have been put in as well. Our goal for The Stables was to keep the original barn's equestrian style while adding some exquisite accents and features. We also reused things and materials from our historic property to create something genuinely one-of-a-kind. What you'll discover is a blank canvas that is stunning on its own. You have the freedom to decorate as much or as little as you choose. The splendor of the barn will be enhanced by your choice of event decor! Engagement parties, anniversary parties, milestone birthdays, rehearsal dinners, weddings, vow renewals, family reunions, corporate retreats, and more are all possibilities at The Stables at Washita Farms. Our family's involvement in the management of The Stables at Washita Farms is extremely important to us, and we would be honored to be a part of your special day.

The Harn Homestead is a historic outdoor museum in downtown Oklahoma City, preserving the 1904 Victorian Queen Anne home built by William and Alice Harn along with five other historic buildings on the family's original territorial-era homestead. The property's mix of period architecture, century-old trees, and open grounds gives it the feel of a working piece of Oklahoma history rather than a built-for-purpose event space. For private events, the grounds accommodate up to 200 guests, with tables and chairs for that number included in rental packages. Couples can marry beneath the gazebo or under the property's mature trees, then move celebrations into the Victorian home or the two-story Event Barn, a 3,000-square-foot rock-and-cedar structure that seats 200 for dinner and holds up to 500 for receptions, with room for as many as 1,500 across the outdoor grounds. The barn is climate-controlled, with overhead heating and Portacoolers, and its north and south doors open to connect indoor and outdoor entertaining space. Beyond weddings, the Harn Homestead hosts corporate, civic, and fundraising events, memorial services, and seasonal programming, alongside its ongoing work as a museum offering guided tours and field-trip education about Oklahoma's territorial past.
