The glitter of 22-karat gold greets visitors to the China Cabin, once the elegant social saloon of the PS China, giving them a glimpse of the old-world luxury and attention to detail that first-class passengers enjoyed when the ship first sailed from its home port of San Francisco. The Cabin consists of a large room and two small staterooms. Its plain exterior belies the ornate and regal appointments inside. The walls and arched ceiling are panels of elaborately decorated wood that have been painted a crisp white and highlighted with gold leaf. Along the sides of the Cabin are a series of small, delicately etched glass windows; handsome crystal chandeliers hang at each end of the room. The Cabin also has decks on three sides that have wonderful views of the San Francisco skyline and of the colorful boats berthed at the nearby yacht harbor. The Rengstorff House is the oldest historic house in Mountain View, California, and is a classic example of Victorian Italianate architecture seen on the West Coast. This venue has been lovingly refurbished while maintaining its historic appearance and atmosphere. Throughout the year, the Rengstorff House organizes a number of events, including an annual Spring tea, Christmas parties, and numerous Halloween/haunted events. Except during public hours, the Rengstorff House and gardens are available for rental every day to hold any occasion such as a dinner meeting, wedding, rehearsal dinner, or family get-together. With seating for up to 150 people, The Rengstorff House can accommodate small to big gatherings. At The Rengstorff House, work with our staff to create the event of your dreams. As soon as you step onto the grounds of the historic property, you will be struck by the place's distinct personality as well as its simple elegance. Located on the Campbell Historical Museum grounds, Ainsley House is owned and administered by the City of Campbell in the name of the public trust. Through innovative and relevant activities, the museums interpret the history of the Campbell area, from its pioneer roots to the present day. We encourage you to come and explore our museums, where you will learn about the past and future of the Orchard City. Located in the middle of downtown Campbell, the Ainsley House and Garden is a wonderful old mansion with a stunning garden. An elegant backdrop for a wedding, anniversary party, baby shower, birthday celebration, or company party may be found in the 3200 square foot garden. We are an a la carte location, which means that you can create a unique experience for your guests. In order to ensure that your event runs successfully, our competent and courteous crew will be on hand during the duration of your event. Due to the fact that we are an outdoor venue, the garden is only accessible for rental from May to October. It is possible to accommodate up to 200 people for a ceremony and a seated meal in the garden. Site tours of the Ainsley House Garden can be arranged with prior request. Reservations for the year 2022 are now being accepted. Please be advised that the Campbell Library will be closed during the summer of 2022 while construction is taking place. The Ainsley House will remain open, however parking may be limited as a result of the closure.
