The legendary San Jacinto Inn, founded in 1917 as a small family-operated restaurant, was Ford’s favorite place to eat when he was a boy. Sadly, the Inn closed its doors in 1987. Thirty years later, Ford had a hankering for the Inn’s oysters and chicken dinners. So he recreated the recipe —— with his own special tweaks, of course —— and it was delicious. Larry and Karen began to dream about magnificent vineyards and possibly even creating wine while traveling around Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, and other exotic locations. When Wild Stallion Vineyards was founded in 2009, that goal became a reality! In 2008, Wild Stallion Vineyards planted a small test site of Blanc du Bois grapes, a variety of the widespread Vitis vinifera that is best suited to the Gulf Coast environment. Blanc des Bois grapes create a dry, fruity wine that has received numerous national and international prizes. We currently have nearly three acres of trees planted, and they are doing fantastically! We planted two more acres directly adjacent to the Event Center in the spring of 2015 to provide our guests a closer look at the vines. A vineyard is the most tranquil and lovely location for a wedding. Who wouldn't want to exchange vows in front of a vineyard? Wild Stallion Vineyards is Harris County's lone vineyard, so you won't find anything like it anywhere else. The Wild Stallion Event Center is the ideal location for your next birthday celebration, family gathering, business meeting, wedding, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or any other event that would benefit from a gorgeous vineyard backdrop. Our event space can accommodate up to 150 people, but a gathering of 125 people is perfect, especially if you want a huge dance floor. On-site food is provided by Wild Stallion Vineyards, which has a full commercial kitchen. All prices include complete room set-up and tear-down, 72-inch round tables, walnut chiavari chairs, china flatware and glassware, white linens, and more.

It was built in 1876 by German immigrants during a time when horse drawn carriages, railroad tracks, and old saloons were still in use. Today, the house is one hundred and forty years old. The original homesteaders were the well-known Wunsche Brothers of Old Town Spring, who still live on the property. Originally known as "Oak Tree Manor," the historic structure sits on its original site on Spring Stuebner Road and is surrounded by century-old oak trees, some of which are more than two hundred years old. One Live Oak has qualified to be included in the Harris Country Tree Registry, and one Willow Oak has been recognized as a county-wide champion in its category by the Harris County Tree Commission. A living room and a master bedroom have been the only major additions to the main house in recent years, with the remaining rooms being renovated. The original wood has been preserved to the greatest extent possible. The grounds have recently been enhanced with the addition of a Gazebo, a swimming pool, and a reception hall. Numerous weddings have taken place under the shade of the two-hundred-year-old oak tree over the course of several generations. According to local legend, couples who tie the knot under this tree will be blessed with happiness, children, and, of course, a long-lasting relationship. As countless couples embark on the first few steps of their married lives, Oak Tree Manor and its majestic oaks continue to provide a picturesque backdrop for their wedding ceremonies.
