Flora Corner Farm is a working farm wedding venue set on family land in Mechanicsville, Maryland, about 90 minutes from Washington D.C., Annapolis, and Virginia. The property has been passed down through generations — originally cultivating tobacco, now growing soybeans, corn, and sunflowers — and that agricultural heritage gives the setting a genuinely rural character that's harder to manufacture. The venue accommodates up to 130 guests inside the heated and air-conditioned barn, or up to 150 guests with an outdoor dance floor. Wedding packages range from a Basic Reception to a Premier option that includes extensive furniture and décor choices; à la carte menus round out the catering offerings. Dressing rooms are available for the bridal party, and guests are welcome to wander the lawn and flower gardens between ceremony and reception. The property offers more than 600 feet of shoreline, 180-degree river views, and a 130-foot lighted pier extending over the water — a combination that gives it a rare sense of natural privacy without sacrificing accessibility for out-of-town guests. The centerpiece of the property is a timber frame pavilion built with a contemporary country aesthetic and nautical touches. Douglas fir posts and beams define the interior, while a glass wall facing the river and 12 glass doors that open onto the lawn and beach keep the connection to the water immediate. A 40-foot masonry fireplace anchors one end of the main floor, and a full bar with granite, copper, and antique mirror finishes runs along the opposite wall. The main event floor spans 6,000 square feet within a 7,800-square-foot structure, accommodating up to 250 guests. Two dedicated getting-ready suites — the Carolina Suite and the Potomac Suite — each have waterfront views, private porches, makeup stations, and gathering areas. Ostertag Vistas is a 164-acre historic farm property tucked in a quiet valley near Myersville, Maryland, 15 minutes from both Frederick and Hagerstown. The grounds include three landmarked structures dating to 1711 — among them a circa-1700s stone pioneer home with a water wheel and a mid-1700s log cottage built by early German settlers — alongside rolling hills, a farm pond, streams, and meadows that attract blue herons, bald eagles, and migrating geese. The centerpiece of the property is a carefully restored 18th-century German Swiss bank barn, known as The Barn. Its 50-foot ceiling, original mortise-and-tenon timber frame held by wooden pegs, three stone fireplaces, and large glass panels looking out over the 164 acres make it the focal point for weddings and receptions. The Barn accommodates up to 200 seated guests and includes a bridal suite, groom's room, five restrooms, a loft stage, and a small museum — with barn doors that open to the surrounding landscape. Beyond the barn, couples choose from six additional outdoor ceremony settings across the property: a forested hollow with streams and fern beds, an open meadow with willow trees and a pond, a hillside amphitheater, a patio framed by two pergolas with farmland views, and the log cottage's garden with a stream and brick walkway.
