Monty Trainer: Monty, a native of Key West, wanted to bring a taste of his hometown to Coconut Grove. He built "Monty's Conch," a modest breakfast nook and petrol station, two years after graduating from the University of Florida. Monty eventually expanded his restaurant empire to include locations in Boca Raton, Orlando, Atlanta, and Key West. He sold his rights to "Monty's" but his legacy is still very much alive with our raw bar and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival which he founded and is now in it's 54th year.
