  • Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden

1690 John F Kennedy Dr, San Francisco, CA 94121, USA

The Queen Wilhelmina Garden, located beneath the majestic Dutch (North) windmill at the west end of Golden Gate Park, has been entertaining visitors since the 1900s. The garden is named after Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, who is famous for reigning longer than any previous Dutch monarch. The Dutch Bulb Growers' Association donates flower bulbs every year. The garden's tulips are a major attraction for tourists and wedding groups alike, and are best seen between March 15 and April 15. The lack of the option of amplified music is a requirement for securing a wedding date at the Queen Wilhelmina Garden. This means you will have to come up with different ways to include music in your ceremony or reception, like as hiring live musicians or using light recorded sound - like a 'boom box.' QUEEN WILHELMINA GARDEN WEDDING CEREMONY PACKAGES Golden Gate Park is a lovely and romantic setting for a wedding celebration. We have teamed up with San Francisco Weddings, an all-inclusive wedding planning company, to make your big day at Golden Gate Park a memorable one. We provide a variety of Queen Wilhelmina Garden Wedding Ceremony options, including everything from permits to flowers. SF STANDARD The Ceremony Month-Of Preparation Package is designed for couples who have completed the majority of their wedding planning and would like a professional to come in and tie up loose ends, confirm specifics, and conduct their ceremony. The venue hosts over 150 diverse performances, exhibitions, workshops, and artist residencies each year, drawing musicians, poets, dancers, and visual artists from across the Bay Area and internationally. For private events, the space accommodates up to 39 seated or 49 standing guests, making it well suited for intimate wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, and company gatherings. • Haas-Lilienthal House

2007 Franklin St, San Francisco, CA 94109, USA

History The 11,500 square foot Haas-Lilienthal House, designed by architect Peter R. Schmidt for William and Bertha Haas and built in 1886, represents both the ambitious spirit of San Francisco's pioneers and its great Victorian-period architecture. It survived the 1906 earthquake and fire and remained in the Haas-Lilienthal family until 1973, when the House was entrusted to a new architectural preservation organization, The Foundation for San Francisco's Architectural Heritage, by the three adult children of the recently deceased Alice Haas-Lilienthal (now SF Heritage). The H-L Home subsequently became their new headquarters after some planning, and it was rapidly turned into offices, a house museum with docent-led public tours, and a sophisticated location for special functions. In addition, SF Heritage created an extremely effective teaching program for third graders to learn more about architecture, preservation, and nineteenth-century living. Today, this exuberant Queen Anne style home survives as a site of national cultural and architectural significance. In addition to being on the National Register of Historic Places and San Francisco Landmark #69, the House was designated a National Treasure in 2012 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
