PJ Hummel and Company’s World Headquarters is a repurposed century-old factory located in the transportation hub of Tacoma known as the Dome District. Depending on the night of the week, and if we have to close the tasting room to the public, our minimums, room charge & upfront deposit varies. This is an upscale/casual space with a mixed seating environment - bar/tables/couches. We serve craft cocktails, beer & sparling wine. All of our craft cocktails are made with Chambers Bay Distillery spirits (bourbon, vodka, gin, ghost pepper whiskey) and local liqueurs.

Thornewood Castle, located on four acres near American Lake and studded with old growth fir trees, is a historic mansion. It was built in 1908 by Chester A. Thorne and is the only one of its sort on the west coast. The house measures 27,000 square feet and is decorated in the Gothic Tudor style. Thornewood, originally built as a single family property, has been painstakingly restored to its former glory as an elegant country inn. Explore the hallways where presidents and luminaries have trod before you. Presidents William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt stayed in our presidential suite on their visit to Washington. Explore the grounds, which include a beautiful half-acre sunken English perennial garden. American Lake is a lovely place to swim, fish, and boat. Take pleasure in watching spectacular sunsets from the hand-tiled lakeside patio. Stained glass window insets from the Middle Ages, as well as antique furniture and artworks, decorate the mansion. Gig Harbor Yacht Club has been part of the South Sound boating community since 1958, when it began as a small group of charter members meeting above Gig Harbor's waterfront. Today the club's clubhouse sits in downtown Gig Harbor with a view of the bay from its outdoor deck, and it opens its doors to members and non-members alike for private events. The clubhouse offers an open floor plan that hosts can decorate to fit their occasion, with capacity for 150 to 200 guests depending on the event configuration. Weddings, birthdays, meetings, and other special and casual occasions all take place here, supported by round and rectangular tables, chairs, a state-of-the-art AV system with a 75-inch flat screen and overhead projection, and an in-house chef and catering team. The entire venue is handicap accessible, with plenty of free parking and easy access to nearby downtown marinas, parks, and lodging.
