Our 4th Hoxton Hotel in the US is located in the heart of DTLA with amazing views of the old movie theatres and shops along Broadway. The Hoxton, Downtown LA is housed in the historic Los Angeles Transit Building, originally completed in 1922 by the Los Angeles Railway Corporation. The gorgeous Beaux Arts building has been fully restored with 174 comfy bedrooms. "Café Basque Los Angeles is a love letter. Straddling the borders of France and Spain, wedged between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic, the Pays Basque (Basque Country) is fiercely independent and culturally and linguistically distinct from anywhere in the world. The cooking is joyful, generous and uncomplicated. Overflowing with excellent local products from the mountains and the sea, it has the particularity of being marked by the use of sweet and mildly hot peppers. Named after a town in the mountains above the port of St Jean de Luz, Espelette peppers were imported from central and south America in the 16th century and are a cornerstone of Basque cuisine in the same way that the American tomato has defined a large part of Italian cooking. Meanwhile, amid this rich culture and history, the Basque coast has been one of the world’s great surf destinations since the 1960s. Someone who writes a love letter is not necessarily a specialist on the subject and I do not pretend to be a specialist in Basque cooking. My love affaire is with France and its regions which have been an infinite source of inspiration to me for more than 20 years. The Kim Sing Theatre, formerly the vaudeville house and movie theater, was built in 1926. The Kim Sing Theatre was artfully reimagined in the early 2000's for private use and re-opened to the public in 2017 for the first time in 17 years. Retaining original details such as bow truss ceilings and the customizable neon marquee sign, the site has been modernized into a striking and flexible space with a full residential kitchen, serving station, and AV room. The center of the old theater has been turned into a 2,200 square foot private outdoor courtyard. Kim Sing Theatre is a unique event space. Since it's rebirth, the space has been celebrated for being one of LA's most interesting venues and is respected for its achievement in architecture and design. Suitable for 125 standing or 75 seated guests, they've hosted a variety of events including: corporate conferences & branded activations, product launches, happy hours, private dinner parties, weddings and more.
