Dating from 1815, the Farmhouse is one of the rental facilities at Kirkridge Retreat and Study Center, perched on the Kittatinny Ridge in the Pocono Mountains of Bangor, Pennsylvania. The building pairs original farmhouse details with a dining room warmed by a large stone fireplace and a meeting room offering panoramic views of a nearby pond, trees, and meadow. The Farmhouse accommodates 12 to 24 guests and can be booked for day use or overnight stays, with 12 guest rooms available on-site. Guests can walk to the property's peace garden, pond, and stone labyrinth, or visit the neighboring Columcille Megalith Park. The Farmhouse can also be rented together with Kirkridge's barn event space for larger gatherings. Nelson Lodge sits at the highest point on the Kirkridge Retreat and Study Center property in Bangor, Pennsylvania, perched on the Kittatinny Ridge with views over the surrounding countryside and Pocono foothills. It's the uppermost of Kirkridge's rental facilities, built for groups of 16 to 27 people gathering for retreats, meetings, and private events between mid-March and mid-December. Both the meeting room and dining room take in scenic mountain views and sunsets, and the group can gather around a large stone fireplace in the dining room or spread out on a wooden deck. The Appalachian Trail runs adjacent to the property, offering an easy option for a hike between sessions. A freestanding efficiency cottage next door was once the home-away-from-home of priest and activist Fr. Daniel Berrigan. The lodge includes a fully equipped kitchen, twin-bed sleeping rooms, and two large meeting rooms with countryside views, plus a common room in the upper sleeping area. All bathrooms are single-stall and gender neutral. Access is largely step-free — the meeting room, dining room, and five sleeping rooms require no steps, and amplified sound is available for groups that need it.
