Starline Private Events is located in the Starline Social Club, a dynamic and historic location that offers three unique event spaces for private events. With pleasant, professional service and cutting-edge audio/visual technology, we can arrange in-house food, beverage, and entertainment packages. The Starline Social Club is a bar, restaurant, and performance venue in Uptown Oakland, housed in a historic three-story Victorian edifice. Our one-of-a-kind and historically significant structure is a true Oakland gem. We offer a flexible location with three separate rooms for private rentals, as well as in-house food and bar service, audiovisual services, and production and styling options. We provide a wide variety of different and creative events, available to all ages, ranging from traditional to edgy, easygoing to formal, 30 people to 450 people. Some parties are held in the second-floor ballroom, while smaller groups prefer the Explorers Club's dim romantic speakeasy atmosphere. Before dinner, some people have a cocktail hour in the downstairs bar. We are pleased to offer both traditional wedding parties with sit-down dinners and a first dance, as well as less traditional wedding parties with music and food, or those who wish to reconsider what a commitment ceremony can be all together. Some couples marry on the Starline stage in front of their adoring family and friends, while others hold weddings in the many gorgeous parks, hills, mountains, beaches, and forests that surround Oakland, and then dance the night away at the Starline. There are numerous ways to use the facility, and we are always open to new suggestions.

Bouchaine is the oldest continuously operating winery in Carneros, a region located on the southern tip of Napa Valley. In the late 1880s, a Missouri-born settler named Boon Fly planted grapes and fruit trees on the property. An Italian winemaker named Johnny Garetto bought the land in 1927 and farmed it until 1961, when he sold to Beringer. After 20 years as a storage facility, the dilapidated winery buildings were purchased by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, along with 30 acres of the surrounding land. The Copelands set to work revitalizing the property with new vineyards, winery improvements, and a renewed sense of purpose. Redwood from early storage tanks was recycled and repurposed into the new facade for the winery and tasting room buildings. John Garetto’s original sign from the 1930’s was found patching a hole in the roof. It now holds a place of honor in Bouchaine’s Conference Room. Throughout the years, the Copelands continued to update the property, expanding the vineyards to 100 acres, and invested their time and passion into building a sustainable, family-owned estate. Under the Copelands’ leadership, Bouchaine has grown from a pair of ramshackle buildings into a thriving vineyard estate. With imagination and passion, Gerret and Tatiana have fashioned wines and a wine country experience for visitors that is a distillation of their remarkable lives, at home in Delaware and in Napa Valley. The shallow clay loam soils of Bouchaine are perfectly suited for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These soils force the vines to dig deep for water, promoting depth and concentration as the roots struggle to penetrate the ribbons of obsidian, quartz, clay and volcanic deposits. Of Bouchaine’s 87 planted acres, 31 are dedicated to Chardonnay, 46 to Pinot Noir, with the remaining 10 devoted to Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Syrah. Vineyard blocks are planted with different sun exposures and pruning techniques based on topography, to optimize air circulation and ripening. Bouchaine's high-touch, precision viticulture is managed by an all-female vineyard crew that performs every aspect of the growing process entirely by hand. That includes pruning, positioning shoots, thinning clusters and applying compost, which provides a natural source of rich nutrients for the soil. There is always something fun going on at Bouchaine. From falconry demonstrations to cooking classes, and even wine and music pairings with The Philadelphia Orchestra, we offer an experience for everyone.

Etude was founded on the philosophy that winemaking begins in the vineyard long before the harvest and that superior grape growing diminishes the need for intervention by the winemaker, resulting in wine that is grown, not made. This remains their approach today as they continue to build the Etude legacy. Etude was established 1982, when founding winemaker Tony Soter set his sights on the cool-climate Carneros region in the pursuit of producing world-class Pinot Noir. As a winemaker, Tony always had a fascination with Pinot Noir. He was quoted as saying "Pinot Noir is the most appropriate vehicle with which to study wine growing, precisely because of its demanding nature but also because of its delicacy and transparency. Make no mistake it is a humbling pursuit, but when it’s right, Pinot Noir is a glorious and moving thing. It is in the pursuit of that experience that we all work.” In 2000, Grace Benoist Ranch was developed – the culmination of an eighteen-year journey in finding the most suitable terroir for their Estate vineyards. On the ranch are seven Chardonnay clones, nine Heirloom Pinot Noir clones, and eight additional Pinot clones, all divided into 24 individual vineyard blocks, each with its own soil type, rootstock, grape variety and clonal type. These individual vineyard blocks average only 8 acres in size. The spacing is dense to ensure low per vine yields of fully concentrated fruit. Pinot Noir offers intricate flavor profiles, many of which are unique to its growing region. Beyond Carneros, Etude sources fruit from the Central Coast region of California, Oregon, and even New Zealand. This diversity offers their guests the opportunity to see the world though the lens of Pinot Noir. The flavors, aromas, and textures are a direct impact of the teroirs on which the grapes are grown. Charsaw Farms is a family owned lavender farm launched in 2021 in Napa, California. They make handmade oils, tinctures, soaps and baking goods from the lavender they grow and harvest by hand. In 2006, Doug and Julie Thompson took a chance on a 3.5 acre piece of property in Napa, California with the dream of making it a home and gathering place for friends and family. After years of hard work, renovations, building additions, land development and countless games of bocce ball and pickleball, they succeeded in making this plot of land a truly wonderful place to live. They raised their 4 children, hosted several weddings, and housed friends and family on Napa get-a-ways in wine country. Nine grandchildren later and much debate over what the next chapter of life looked like, Julie and Doug decided to turn their family home into a lavender farm to share the beauty of the property with everyone. Along with two of their daughters, Elizabeth and Mollie, the Thompsons launched Charsaw Farms, named after Liz’s daughter Charley “Char” and Mollie’s daughter Sawyer “Saw”. They celebrate family, healthy living and the natural beauty of Northern California. Elizabeth brings a culinary aspect to the company, as she enjoys experimenting with lavender and baked goods. As most of her desserts surpass mom and her two sisters’ abilities, it was a no brainer to have Liz’s culinary skills utilized. Mollie adds an agriculture background after studying Agricultural Business at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Her knowledge of the wine industry, and tourism in the area, have assisted the family in sales strategies. Hello, and thank you for visiting our website! We are an Oakland-based incubator kitchen with a mission to help local food producers. We rent our large Ivy and tree-lined venue to support that purpose by hosting a variety of outstanding events. Our entire location is 6000 square feet and contains a cafe, full commercial kitchen, conference room for additional preparation space, and a big outside patio with gentle hanging lights, ideal for larger seated meals and parties. This rental is for the entire downstairs space, as well as our upstairs office, which can be used as a staging/dressing room. Seated - 175 guests, Standing - 400 guests. Weddings, dancing, birthday and graduation parties, offsite company meetings, picture shoots, live music (always welcome until 10pm), and local beer and wine are just a few of the events we have held. Little Hills Events is a private outdoor event venue located at 18013 Bollinger Canyon Rd in San Ramon, California, surrounded by redwoods, bay laurels, and oak trees. The property operates seasonally from April through October and hosts weddings, corporate gatherings, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations of life, and more. Two tented event spaces anchor the property, with reception setups featuring softly draped fabric, warm lighting, a living fern wall, and an illuminated dance floor beneath old-growth trees. An outdoor ceremony area and additional gathering spaces complete the grounds. The venue provides in-house catering with wait staff, round tables and Willow chairs, white ceremony chairs, cocktail tables, a bar setup, onsite restrooms, and on-site parking. Fern Cottage is an intimate event venue operated by the East Bay Regional Park District, nestled amongst ferns and groves of redwood trees within Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area in El Sobrante, California. Once a park residence and later a senior center, the 1,000-square-foot cottage sits on a landscaped property featuring two outdoor decks and a private enclosed backyard with a lawn and garden — an easy-to-miss woodland retreat within the East Bay hills. The cottage accommodates up to 60 guests for seated receptions indoors and up to 130 guests overall, making it a natural fit for micro weddings, celebrations, bridal and baby showers, small workshops, and retreats. The interior features two rooms arranged in an L-shape, a cozy gas fireplace, and a full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, six-burner range with oven, and microwave. A covered back deck (30 by 16 feet) and a front deck (16 by 20 feet) extend the usable space outdoors into the surrounding eucalyptus and redwood setting. The facility includes WiFi, an A/V system with screen, projector, and speakers, plus tables and chairs for up to 75 guests. Wheelchair ramp access and accessible restrooms are available on-site.
