Monteverde at Oldstone is located in Cortlandt Manor in Westchester County, New York, originally built by the Van Cortlandt family circa 1760. Rich with history and set majestically overlooking the Hudson River, Monteverde at Oldstone is less than a one hour drive from Manhattan. The Belvedere Estate, situated on more than 25 acres in Westchester County, is a one-of-a-kind property. The estate consists of a large house and many smaller structures scattered over the grounds, all of which include excellent historical elements from the 1920s. A wooded region and cliff with views of the broad Hudson River and the Tappan Zee Bridge provide a range of lovely and peaceful vistas. The Belvedere was once part of Philipsburg Manor, a 90,000-acre property and one of America's richest landholdings, and was built in the 1910s. Dr. Philip Gillette Cole bought it in 1928 and renamed it Zeeview. It was built by Florence and Casper Whitney and purchased by Dr. Philip Gillette Cole in 1928. The home at Zeeview looked out over the huge Hudson River and the "Tappan Zee" with ease. The Coles erected the Agora House and the Studio on the land and displayed their significant collection of American Western art, which was ultimately moved to the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The estate was purchased by Samuel Bronfman of the Seagrams Whiskey dynasty after Cole's death. After the Bronfmans' primary mansion in Toronto, the property was christened Belvedere. Belvedere became the headquarters of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification in 1972. Captain Lawrence Brewing Co. is located in Westchester County, New York, only a short drive north of New York City, and is the region's largest craft brewery, producing more than 28,000 barrels of beer per year. Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, founded in 2006 by Scott Vaccaro, produces a diverse range of beer genres, creating as many as one hundred different brands in a single year. Within a few years of launching, the brewery began to achieve significant recognition for their sour and barrel-aged beers, and in 2007 they received their first of nine GABF gold.
