The Cunard Building was designed by architect Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921. The grandly presented maritime theme emphasizes the power and reach of the Cunard Line when its new headquarters opened in 1919, at a time when New York had grown to become the world's largest city and busiest port, as well as the world's largest city and busiest port. After passing through the opulent vestibule and great hall, which was inspired by ancient Roman baths and where transatlantic voyages on liners like the Queen Mary and the two Queen Elizabeths were booked, visitors are greeted by a grand staircase. A decorative program centered on shipping themes was developed in collaboration with muralist Ezra Winter, and as a result, the lobby is adorned with starfish, seahorses, shells, and sirens, as well as the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, three sailing ships used by Christopher Columbus on his voyages to the New World.

In the event that you are planning a large party to commemorate a special occasion, we recommend that you consider renting the entire restaurant; our maximum seating capacity is 60 people. Please contact us for information on pricing and availability. Any changes to your menu must be made at least 14 days before your event to guarantee that all of your options are still available. Two days before your event, you must do a final count of attendees. The total cost will be increased by the amount of New York State sales tax, 20 percent gratuity, and a 5 percent planning charge. To avoid a 10% cleaning cost, please book additional time for decorating and remove all decorations at the end of your planned period in order to avoid a 10% cleaning fee. Frankies 457’s private event space is a converted blacksmith’s stable located in the garden behind their restaurant at 457 Court Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
