ANGELO RICCI was a second-generation American, descended from a family in Pisterzo, Lazio, in the Monti Lepini—about 100km southeast of Rome. In May 1957, Angelo Ricci opened a delicatessen on the corner of SW 153rd Street and 6th Avenue SW in Burien. At first it was just a small counter and a few tables next to the only liquor store in town. Angelo learned his family’s method of Italian cooking from his father Michele, a grocer who had immigrated from Italy to Osawatomie, Kansas in 1911. Michele always emphasized the importance of the quality and freshness of ingredients. Angelo and his family rapidly expanded, offering a full dining room and lounge by the early 1960s. Angelo made a name for himself by bringing food from around the country and world to Burien.

Situated along the Cedar River and just steps from Cedar River Park, the Renton Community Center sits minutes from downtown Renton with easy access to I-405, surrounded by the natural scenery of the Pacific Northwest. At the center of the facility is a banquet room overlooking the river, with vaulted ceilings and a contemporary design that accommodates up to 184 guests for banquet-style dining or theater-style seating. The venue also includes two full-sized gymnasiums, three meeting and classroom rooms, a dance/yoga studio, and a patio, offering space for everything from wedding receptions and birthday parties to business meetings, conferences, and seminars. Rental fees include tables, chairs, microphones, a projector screen, and a podium, with an LCD projector available on request in the banquet hall. Outside catering and decorations are permitted, and the building is equipped with wireless internet throughout.

Across the street from Redondo Beach sits a small blue gazebo with sweeping views of the water. A cement patio wraps around it, and just beside it, a circular brick patio connects by a red brick walkway. It suits elopements, small weddings, family picnics, and quiet photo sessions — nothing large, nothing rushed. The surrounding park gives guests room to spread out: a wide grass commons, five picnic tables, two BBQ grills, a half-court basketball area, a playground, and a rose garden. The park stays open to the public every day, so the setting is shared rather than private. No alcohol is allowed on-site, and restrooms are across the street near the pier.

Founded in 2008, Olalla Vineyard & Winery has been serving the local community. It is a small, family-owned winery with a strong connection to Croatian culture. Joe and Konnie Serka were the former owners and operators of the vineyard, and they took great care of it. As the vineyard grew and developed into the lovely paradise that it is today, Joe and Konnie put their souls into its development. With the help of their son Stuart and daughter Mary Ellen, the current owners hope to carry on the winemaking legacy of the past while also developing the winery into a one-of-a-kind, boutique destination vineyard and winery with a strong emphasis on agricultural tourism. A summer wedding in a vineyard is the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. Stunning photographs and memories will be created by the natural background of our vineyards and gorgeous gardens, which you and your guests will cherish for a lifetime. We have a vineyard setting that will provide for a picture-perfect environment, regardless of whether your personal style is formal and sophisticated or informal and relaxed. Outdoor marriages are only permitted during the months of June, July, August, and September, and they are limited to 100 people or less at each location.
