The Pasadena Scottish Rite Events Center occupies a historic 1925 cathedral at 150 North Madison Avenue in Pasadena's Playhouse Village neighborhood. The building was dedicated that year complete with an auditorium, stage, and extensive scenery capabilities, and has served as a landmark of the community ever since. Its Egyptian-motif entrance, added in 1961, features terrazzo flooring and intricate architectural craftsmanship that sets the tone for the interior spaces throughout. Two primary event spaces are available for rental. The Cobb Auditorium seats 454 guests in a theater setting equipped with professional sound, lighting, and stage capabilities — well suited to performances, ceremonies, and large-scale gatherings. A full-service banquet hall at street level, accessible from the North parking lot, accommodates up to 300 guests for dinners, receptions, and private celebrations. In 1910, the Altadena Country Club, as it was originally known, was established, and on December 28, 1911, the club celebrated its grand opening. By 1915, the club had grown to include an 18-hole golf course and two tennis courts, and membership had reached 147 people. The Clubhouse's footprint was expanded in 1916, and a swimming pool measuring 25 feet long by 8 feet deep was added. By 1917, World War I had taken its toll, and membership had dropped by half, putting the organization on the verge of closure. A group of members took over the struggling Club in 1920 and renamed it the Pasadena Golf Club to reflect the new location. As part of an effort to keep up with the growing popularity of golf, the course was completely rebuilt with grass tees, greens, and fairways that were of the highest quality. The course was praised for having the largest tees and greens on the Pacific Coast, as well as a "traveling sprinkler" that moved from hole to hole. Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden is a two-acre historic garden estate in a residential neighborhood of Pasadena, California, available for private events and special celebrations. Designed by renowned landscape architect Kinzuchi Fujii between 1935 and 1940 for Charles and Ellamae Storrier Stearns, it is recognized as the only intact example in the United States of a major Japanese-style garden created for a private residence in the years leading up to World War II. Following a comprehensive restoration completed in 2013 under the direction of Dr. Takeo Uesugi of Cal Poly Pomona, the property was reimagined as a shared space for the community. The garden features a hill-and-pond stroll garden with a 25-foot waterfall, an arched wooden bridge, Japanese granite statuary, and a formal teahouse overlooking the pond — all framed by mature sycamore, oak, and Japanese maple trees. Private event rental provides exclusive use of the entire property, accommodating up to 120 seated guests or 150 for standing receptions. The intimate teahouse is available for smaller gatherings of up to 15. The setting has hosted weddings, corporate retreats, holiday parties, concerts, recitals, and celebrations of life.

Because Amy Schonheit (24, who works in the arts) and David Schonheit (24, who works in engineering) both have a passion for the outdoors, they chose to have their wedding ceremony at San Moritz Lodge in Crestline, California, which was surrounded by woodlands. As much as Amy and David adored the color teal, they decided to combine it with other hues to create a palette that blended in with nature—from the bridesmaid dresses, which came in a variety of styles and lengths, to the greenery that accented the sides of the wooden ceremony archway—to create a palette that blended in with nature. Amy desired a wedding gown that was simple yet elegant, and she found the perfect strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline that she accessorized with a silver belt. Amy and her husband were married in a simple yet elegant ceremony. Small wooden birdhouse-shaped props painted with numbers were placed at each dining table in the rustic building of the San Moritz Lodge to help guests find their seats when they arrived. Floral centerpieces, wheat, and small votive candles were arranged on top of burlap and lace that was draped across the middle of the tables to create a soft, romantic atmosphere. Featuring green leaves carefully placed on the surface of each layer and a tree-shaped topper, the two-tier white wedding cake perched on top of a tree trunk embodied the natural vibe of the day. More Mother Nature-inspired details can be found in the gallery below. At San Moritz Lodge in Crestline, California, the reception was held in the rustic space of the lodge's rustic space. It was designed to look like a log cabin, complete with wooden ceilings, stone walls, and brown carpeted floors, among other things.
