Hahn Horticulture Garden is a nearly six-acre teaching and display garden on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, established in 1984 by the university's Horticulture faculty. Its perennial borders, water gardens, shade gardens, and meadow garden serve as a living laboratory for students and a resource for the surrounding community, alongside features like the Trident Maple Allee and Stream Garden. For weddings and private events, the garden offers two distinct spaces: the Garden Marquee, a 2,800-square-foot open-air covered structure that accommodates up to 184 guests for receptions, and the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion, a climate-controlled 660-square-foot multipurpose room with views into the garden, seating up to 48 guests and including a prep kitchen and bridal changing room. Broad lawns throughout the grounds are also available for ceremonies, set against backdrops including the Trident Maple Allee and Meadow Garden. Rentals include full access to the garden and day-before setup time.

Historic Smithfield is a 1774 colonial home and independent 501(c)(3) museum set on tree-shaded grounds adjacent to Virginia Tech's campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. Now stewarded by the Smithfield-Preston Foundation, the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register, and was designated the Family Homestead of Virginia Governors by the Virginia General Assembly in 2014. For weddings, meetings, and social gatherings, the estate's Pavilion accommodates up to 200 guests standing or 125 seated, with the surrounding grounds, kitchen garden, and back porch available to rent alongside it. Renters may also arrange a guided tour of the historic manor house as part of their event. Historic Smithfield's programming explores the interconnected histories of the Preston family, the indigenous peoples of the region, and the enslaved community who lived and worked at Smithfield, grounded in the values of liberty, courage, leadership, education, and justice.

Nesselrod on the New is a thirteen-acre estate overlooking the New River in Radford, Virginia, one mile from Radford University. The property dates to 1939, when Dr. Minor Wine Thomas and Grace Nesselrodt built their Colonial Revival home — designed by architect Everett Fauber, who also worked on the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg — using stone salvaged from a decommissioned Radford train station. The family hosted a wedding on the grounds as early as 1954, and Dr. Hal and Dr. Cheryl Gillespie restored the estate and opened it as Nesselrod on the New in 1999. Today the estate offers several distinct event spaces. The Pavilion is a 4,800-square-foot covered outdoor venue seating up to 200 guests, with restrooms, a small stage, and catering facilities. The Gazebo, enclosed by hemlock trees and reached by a straight runway from the historic Thomas House, seats up to 150 for ceremonies, while the Sunken Garden — a natural depression designed by Fauber along the New River — offers an open setting for ceremonies, live music, and receptions. The Thomas House itself holds five guest suites with private bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, and living room, along with a stone veranda overlooking the river, giving couples and their families a place to stay on-site before and after the celebration.

Doe Creek Farm is a historic 1800s working farm, apple orchard, and cattle operation in eastern Giles County, Virginia, in the New River Valley near Blacksburg and Virginia Tech. The family-owned property is listed on the historic registry and has grown apples for more than a century, now welcoming visitors each fall for pick-your-own orchard experiences alongside its private event venue. The farm's event space, The Bad Apple, occupies a barn built in the 1940s that originally sheltered sheep and stored hay before its renovation into a private events venue. The barn caps capacity at 70 guests to keep weddings and celebrations comfortable, and features a main dining and bar level with hardwood floors, a dance floor, and chandelier lighting beneath an arched stained-glass window. A first-floor lobby, private dressing room, covered patio, and lift-accessible entry support guests before and during the event, while a third-floor loft overlooking the main floor serves as additional space for preparation or mingling.

Mountain Lake Lodge sits within a 2,600-acre nature preserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Pembroke, Virginia, home to Mountain Lake — a rare natural lake known for underground waterways that periodically drain and refill it. The property gained wider recognition as a filming location for "Dirty Dancing," including the film's well-known lift scene, and carries that legacy into a Southern-hospitality ethos it describes as inviting guests to "come as friends, leave as family." Lodging ranges from the Main Stone Lodge and the pet-friendly Chestnut Lodge to individual cabins and homes scattered across the property, giving wedding and event guests a range of accommodations for a multi-day stay. Hidden Valley Country Club is a private, family-oriented country club set in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Roanoke Valley in Salem, Virginia. Founded in 1949, the club has hosted weddings, banquets, and corporate events for more than 70 years and was voted Best Wedding Venue in 2020 and 2021 by The Roanoker Magazine. Membership is not required to host an event on the property. The clubhouse offers a few distinct event spaces. The Ballroom, completely renovated in 2017, holds up to 200 guests and serves as a neutral backdrop for anything from a wedding to a baby shower to a memorial gathering. Club 1949 Lounge, the club's most requested space, pairs modern decor with a variety of seating options for bridal and baby showers, while the Dogwood Room offers a private setting with a mounted TV for business meetings and presentations.
