The Orchard Golf & Country Club is a private country club set at the base of the Appalachian Mountains in Clarkesville, Georgia, on grounds that were once a working cattle farm and apple orchard. The property borders the Chattahoochee National Forest, with apple orchards, flowering trees, and mountain streams running through the landscape. The centerpiece is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Dan Maples and opened in 1991, stretching to 7,018 yards from the longest tees. The centerpiece for private events is the Sautee Event Lodge, a luxuriously rustic facility featuring a stone fireplace, a screened-in dining porch with bar and flat-screen television, a state-of-the-art catering kitchen, two commercial outdoor grills, and covered and enclosed exterior decks. The conference room accommodates up to 100 guests, with the decks providing room for an additional 50. Catering is flexible — clients may use preferred vendors, bring their own food and beverages, or hire outside services.
