Bleu Frog Vineyards was born out of a perfect storm of timing, dreaming, hard work, and a little bit of luck. The Kernan family spent over 30 years serving in the United States Navy as true advocates for freedom and patriotism, with the intention of one day planting long-term roots of their own. After retiring in 2014, the quest for a farm life began in Loudoun County, where, as luck would have it, the historic White Stone Farm was posted for sale two years later. The undulating hills, rocky environment, and proximity to Leesburg drew the Kernans in as the ideal location. The property alterations were first inspired by grape cultivation and a healthy lifestyle, but the family soon recognized they could provide more to the community, the grape growers, and the wine makers of Northern Virginia. With the help of the harvest gods, they were able to produce their first wine in 2019, and their vision for the land began to grow. Jan's passion and expertise in the French culinary arts, as well as Joe's longtime service as a 'frogman' in the United States Navy SEAL community, inspired the moniker Bleu Frog. Traditional wedding receptions in a rustic barn Hopkins Grove Historic Barn, built in 1916 on the grounds of the picturesque Raspberry Plain Estate (circa 1731) in Leesburg, Virginia, is a National Historic Landmark. Hopkins Grove is a beautiful setting for any Special Event, whether it's an intimate formal dinner or a festive wedding day brunch with friends and family. Featuring large bay windows that look out onto the 30' x 60' Patio, the ground floor space has been restored to its original wood paneled walls. The romantic chandeliers and festive string lights adorn the second-floor traditional barn space, which is filled with natural light. The original barn doors have been transformed into a magnificent double-height glass window that provides expansive views of the rolling countryside beyond.

The History of Rockwood Manor Retreats and Events After leaving Washington, D.C., Carolyn Gangwer Caughey (pronounced "Coy") traveled west along the Old Conduit Road (now MacArthur Boulevard) to her newly purchased estate near Great Falls. Mountains of tall cedars, poplars, and oaks cover rock-studded hillsides that gently slope down to a stream valley. A name for Mrs. Caughey's country estate was suggested to her by the natural elements almost immediately: Rockwood. Carolyn was a well-to-do socialite whose ancestors traced their roots back to the American Revolution. She was also a successful businesswoman who had a passion for architecture and a keen eye for profit in the real estate market. According to Who's Who in the Nation's Capital, she is "active in civic betterment, particularly in relation to better-constructed and better-planned homes," among other things. It also mentions that she was responsible for designing one of the largest apartment buildings in the nation's capital at the time. As a result, many of her close friends were not surprised when she revealed that she had designed and personally supervised the construction of her new home. Visiting auctions and antique dealers in the area on a regular basis assisted her in the furnishing of her country estate. Celebrations This historic manor house, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony on the wooded Patio, followed by cocktails on the Veranda and a sit-down dinner in the rustic elegance of Brooke Hall, is the focal point of our property. When the party is over, the Hoover Hall ballroom and festive Sun Porch are transformed into a two-level party space for dessert and dancing. Flexible floor plans allow you to personalize your guests' experience and the flow of your event, allowing you to create an event that is completely unique.
