From Galveston to Houston In 1870 a group of Masons gathered frequently for lunch at the Knickerbocker Cottage on Sixth Avenue in New York City. At a special table on the second floor, a particularly fun-loving group of men met regularly. Among the regulars were Walter M. Fleming, M.D. and William J. “Billy” Florence, an actor. The group frequently talked about starting a new fraternity for Masons – one centered on fun and fellowship, more than ritual. Fleming and Florence took this idea seriously enough to do something about it. ​ Billy Florence had been on tour in France and had been invited to a party given by an Arabian diplomat. The exotic style, flavors, and music of the Arabian-themed party inspired him to suggest this as a theme for the new fraternity. Walter Fleming, a devoted fraternity brother, built on Fleming’s ideas and used his knowledge of fraternal ritual to transform the Arabian theme into the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (A.A.O.N.M.S.). ​ With the help of the Knickerbocker Cottage regulars, Fleming drafted the ritual, designed the emblem and costumes, formulated a salutation and declared that members would wear the red fez. The first meeting of Mecca Shriners, the first temple (chapter) established in the United States, was held September 26, 1872. As word got out about the fledgling organization, membership grew rapidly, spreading across the U.S. In the early 1900s, membership spread into Canada, Mexico, and Panama. Today, Shriners International is a fraternity with nearly 200 temples in several countries, thousands of clubs around the world and hundreds of thousands of members dedicated to the principles of brotherly love, relief and truth.

The Manor The Manor, a grand two-story reception room where Southern Chic meets Modern Luxury, welcomes you. There is a huge eating and dancing space, an upper lounge, two full-service, distinctively themed bars, and a wide lobby. The Manor, with its 11,000 square feet of space, can accommodate up to 300 people. The Manor provides comfort and convenience for everybody with a secret caterer's prep kitchen and a separate vendors entrance. Bridal Cottage The bride's comfort on her wedding day is paramount, which is why the bride and her bridal party will be able to spend the entire day on property in the luxury of the Bridal Cottage. A kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower, lounge space, five hair stations, and an outdoor veranda with porch swing are all included in this quaint 1,200 square foot home. Every bride's dream, the exquisite, neutral furnishings create the ideal setting for her and her bridal party to get dressed and relax on the wedding day. The Bridal Cottage is ideal for bridal portraits and wedding day photos. Groom Cottage The perfect guy cave is this 1,200 square foot home. The groom and his groomsmen will have plenty of room to enjoy together pre-ceremony with a kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower, pool table, lounge room with flatscreen television, Xbox, and outdoor patio with rocking seats, fishing, and putting green. The Groom's Cottage sits on the opposite side of the property from the Bridal Cottage, ensuring the seclusion of both the bride and groom before the big reveal. OUR VENUE Visions Event Planning has been in business since 2017. Our event venue allows us to offer our customers a more complete service. Our space caters to small to medium sized events. Our venue host a up to 50 guest seated, and a maximum of 60 with seated/standing room combinations depending on your event’s needs. We can also be there to coordinate your event and assist with catering and outside vendors.
