American River Resort is a 30-acre riverside property in Coloma, California, set along the South Fork of the American River in the heart of California's Gold Country — 45 minutes northeast of Sacramento and under two hours from the Bay Area. The resort hosts weddings and private celebrations against a backdrop of river rapids, towering oaks, and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Two outdoor riverside venues accommodate events of different scales. River's Edge hosts ceremonies and receptions for up to 250 guests at river-level sites along the South Fork, where the sound and energy of the rushing rapids carry throughout the weekend. Dutch Creek, situated where Dutch Creek meets the American River at the base of Mount Murphy, offers a more intimate setting for up to 150 guests. Both venues are booked on an exclusive-use basis from Friday afternoon through Sunday midday, giving couples and their guests full access to the property for the weekend. The resort brings no preset packages — couples arrange their own catering, beverages, vendors, and décor. On-site lodging options including cabins, glamping tents, RV sites, and riverside camping allow out-of-town guests to stay close through the celebration.

Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast is a five-acre hillside estate in Placerville, California, set in the Sierra Nevada Foothills amid landscaped gardens, ponds, streams, and waterfalls. The property sits above the Coloma/Lotus Valley, offering panoramic views of the American River canyon — a setting that draws couples planning intimate elopements and small celebrations alongside guests seeking a romantic retreat. The estate grounds serve as the primary event setting, accommodating ceremonies and receptions for up to 20 guests on the lawn and garden areas. Architectural columns, art, and antiques frame outdoor spaces designed for photography and celebration. A lagoon with a cascading waterfall and sandy beach, multiple garden sitting areas, and valley-view terraces extend the usable event footprint across the property. Kathleen Ash founded the bed and breakfast in 2005 after recognizing the five-acre property as an experience worth sharing. Cielo Estate Winery sits on 41 acres of foothills countryside in Shingle Springs, California, about 30 minutes from Sacramento in El Dorado County. The property combines historic Victorian architecture — originally home to the Hodgkin and Spinardi families in the late 1800s — with working vineyards and oak-shaded grounds, giving the estate a character that few event venues in the region share. The estate operates as a year-round, full-service wedding and special events venue. Its mix of indoor and outdoor settings — including a restored Victorian farmhouse, a gazebo, an event center, and surrounding vineyard backdrops — makes it well suited to ceremonies and receptions of varying sizes and styles. On-site wine service from the estate's own handcrafted wines is available for events. Full-service event planning and execution is offered to help guide couples and hosts through every detail of their celebration on the property.

With the lavish beauty provided by the lovely Iris Gardens, wedding staircase, and many unique features, your wedding will be as special as you are. Except for scheduled weddings, our iris gardens are open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the month of May only. (The website will list the closed dates.) The stunning Apple Hill region of Camino is home to the outdoor wedding destination High Sierra Iris & Wedding Gardens. From May through October, we host weddings. Our gorgeous flowers, trees, and leaves give a wonderful environment for your wedding whether it is in the spring, summer, or fall. The location has a gorgeous wedding stairway that leads to the reception pavilion and pond. A huge deck area, catering cabin, and barbecue area are also included. There is a wealth of outdoor landscape available year-round to give you countless backdrops for photos.

El Dorado County Fair & Event Center sits on 47.77 acres in Placerville, California, and has served the region since the fair's founding in 1859. The organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is entirely self-supported, operating without county funds. The fairgrounds host more than 60 events throughout the year — from the annual El Dorado County Fair held each Father's Day weekend to private weddings, galas, and community fundraisers. The campus offers a range of indoor and outdoor event spaces spanning intimate gathering rooms to large exhibition halls. The Mark D. Forni Building, the largest of the indoor venues at 15,360 square feet, accommodates up to 1,010 guests for seated dinners or 2,165 for assembly-style events. The Marshall Reception Hall (4,000 sq ft, up to 286 seated / 600 standing), the Organ Room (3,200 sq ft, up to 232 seated / 498 standing), and the intimate Corker Building (1,600 sq ft, up to 100 seated / 200 standing) round out the indoor options. Outdoor spaces include the 76,200-square-foot Main Lawn with an Apple Tree Stage, covered Vicini Pavilions, and several lawn and blacktop areas suited to festivals and large gatherings.
