Country Club of Culpeper has served the Culpeper, Virginia community since 1954, when the Tolson family donated 58 acres of land to found the club. The clubhouse itself dates to the late 1920s and retains its classic character through subsequent renovations, sitting alongside an 18-hole golf course and Simpson's Lake. For weddings and receptions, the club offers exclusive use of the clubhouse, including a ballroom that seats up to 100 guests, a bar area, porches, and a dance floor. Ceremonies can take place on the manicured front lawn overlooking the lake and golf course, with the golf course and grounds also available for photographs. A dressing room is provided for the bridal party, and packages include tables, chairs, house linens, china, silverware, and glassware, along with an on-site day-of coordinator and pre-wedding food tastings. Located on Main Street in historic downtown Culpeper, Virginia, about ninety minutes south of Washington, D.C., the Culpeper Center & Suites pairs a boutique hotel with a state-of-the-art event and conference facility. The venue was created by four local business owners with a vision of building on Culpeper's Main Street USA reputation, and its ballroom preserves the Art Deco details of the original building while incorporating modern fixtures, including LED lighting that can be set to any color scheme. The Culpeper Center hosts weddings, business events, personal parties and receptions, and meetings, with on-site lodging available for wedding parties and overnight guests. Its on-site restaurant, Flavor on Main, carries a 1920s theme with Prohibition-era cocktails and period music, and offers two private dining rooms for smaller gatherings: the Gatsby Room, which seats up to 60 guests, and the Chaplin Room, which seats up to 20 guests at a long table. Visiting in the year 2021 During daylight hours, the farm is open to tourists every day of the week. Please keep in mind that we are a functioning farm with a production focus, and our employees may be out in the field. We'd be pleased to put you in the right way, but we don't have anyone on staff who can give you a tour. Take a self-guided tour and have a picnic at one of the tables near the pavilion, or wherever you choose to spread a blanket. Dogs that are well-behaved and on a leash are welcome. Please eliminate any rubbish and debris. Visitors are not permitted to select their own flowers. When strolling through cultivated regions, please be cautious. Between April and October/November, the roadside farm stand is filled with grab-and-go flowers Wednesday through Sunday, and the greenhouse has plants for sale. If you manage to catch us in the middle of market prep on Friday or Saturday afternoons, we'd be delighted to create a bespoke arrangement for you! Other specific requests should be sent to info@wollamgardens.com. Cash, checks, credit cards, and Venmo @Wollam Gardens are all accepted. When interacting with personnel, we advise guests to "maintain their distance" and wear masks. Near the pavilion is a portable restroom with hand sanitizer.
