Canaan Valley Resort State Park occupies a mountain valley near Davis, West Virginia, where a year-round lodge sits amid ski terrain, hiking and biking trails, and a championship golf course. That landscape shapes the events held here: couples can hold an outdoor ceremony reached by a scenic chairlift ride, framed by the surrounding mountains, or keep the ceremony indoors, then carry the celebration into recreation that ranges from sporting clays and archery to an outdoor pool. More than 25,000 square feet of function space spans a dozen rooms, from small private meeting rooms to two large reception venues — Bear Paw Lodge and the Pavilion — that each seat several hundred guests for banquets and weddings. Floor plans reconfigure for theater-style, classroom, banquet, or standing-reception layouts, and a culinary team handles catering and full-service banquets while a conference-services team supports planning. Complimentary high-speed internet reaches the meeting rooms. On-site lodging keeps groups together, from a 160-room lodge to cabins and cottages around the property.
