Our wedding venue offers a range of features and services included in the rental fee. The main rooms offer a custom fireplace, and the rental fee includes exclusive use of the farm property, the first floor of the venue, the private area on the second floor for your wedding party, the wedding pavilion, cocktail hour pavilion, custom benches, tables, and chairs. The Delaware City Fire Company has served Delaware City and the surrounding region since its founding in 1887, growing from a volunteer organization into a combination fire and EMS department that operates around the clock. Alongside its emergency services mission, the fire company makes its hall available for private events, offering a community-rooted setting for receptions, banquets, parties, and meetings. Rentals are structured as five-hour events, with flexible options that include in-house catering through the Ladies Auxiliary — featuring a full menu of entrees, sides, and desserts — or the choice to bring an outside caterer. Bar services can be arranged in several configurations, from a full open bar to cash bar options. A hall manager is available to coordinate bookings and walk prospective clients through rental agreements tailored to each catering arrangement.

Buena Vista is a Greek Revival estate in New Castle, Delaware, built between 1845 and 1847 by Delaware statesman John Middleton Clayton. The property changed hands through several prominent Delaware families before C. Douglass Buck — a former governor of Delaware — and his wife Alice Hounsfield du Pont undertook significant renovations in the 1930s, adding a large library wing. The Buck family donated the estate to the State of Delaware in 1965, and it is now administered by the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs as a conference and event center. The mansion's first and second floors comprise more than a dozen named rooms — including the Buck Library, Dining Room, DuPont Room, Douglass Room, and several private studies — each configurable for formal or casual use. An outdoor Pole Shed on the grounds expands the venue's capacity for larger gatherings. For events with 80 to 250 attendees, the entire estate — all rooms on both floors, the kitchen, and the surrounding grounds — can be reserved exclusively. Buena Vista works with any licensed and insured caterer, giving event organizers flexibility in food and beverage service. Building-wide Wi-Fi, digital projectors and screens, flip charts, and easels are available throughout. The estate hosts receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, corporate meetings, trainings, and retreats.

The property's 120 guest rooms and focused event facilities make it a practical choice for groups that want everything under one roof. The venue offers two configurable meeting spaces totaling 1,344 square feet. The Shannon Room — the largest of the two — accommodates up to 50 guests for banquets, receptions, or theater-style presentations. It can also be divided into two smaller breakout rooms, Shannon A and Shannon B, each suited for boardroom meetings or intimate gatherings of up to 25 for a reception. In-house catering, audiovisual equipment, and high-speed Wi-Fi are available across all spaces, and room blocks are available for groups booking 10 or more accommodations.
