The iconic République building was built in 1929 as Charlie Chaplin's offices, and was eventually transformed into La Brea Bakery and Campanile. Now home to République, the building offers a gastronomic environment of history and grandeur to the public, featuring open kitchens, a charcuterie counter and raw bar, and a bakery. The space has been restored with original fixtures, period lighting, bar stools, and reclaimed wood tables with materials from the same decade the building was originally erected, while preserving and highlighting the architecture from the 1920's structure.
