We found a perfect cozy space at the end of an unused alley off the Bowery in the fall of 2004, and Freemans Restaurant was born. The restaurant's concept was to create a rough, secretive colonial American tavern. Early Americans imagined the cuisine to be simple, rustic, and inspired by Old World traditions. We've held everything from weddings and birthday parties to movie premieres, luncheons, wrap parties, bridal showers, and business dinners over the years. For seated dinner parties or cocktail celebrations, Freemans has three private rooms available. The entire second floor, including the drawing room, or the entire restaurant, can be rented for groups of 30 to 200 people. Our intimate working wine cellar provides an exceptional eating environment. In your own private wine cellar, seats 10-12 guests for a sit-down lunch or dinner. In an elegant 2nd floor dining room, the Blue Room seats 13-20 guests for a sit-down lunch or dinner, or up to 30 guests for a cocktail reception. Our largest single private room is the Red Room on the second floor. In an attractive 2nd floor dining room, seats 20-30 guests for a sit-down lunch or supper, or up to 40 guests for a cocktail reception. Guests can book the Red Room, Drawing Room, and Blue Room for large-scale gatherings. Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911) and his self-published cookbook La Scienza in Cucina e L'Arte di Mangiare Bene are honored at L'Artusi, which opened in December 2008. (The Science of Cookery and the Art of Eating Well). L'Artusi combines comfort and innovation in a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine. Our wine list is primarily Italian, and is organized by area with a map showing DOCs and DOCGs, as well as traditional local meals, to assist demystify Italy, the world's most diversified viticultural nation. Our 110-seat restaurant has two levels of comfy banquette seating, an extended classic bar, a cheese bar, and a chef's counter with an open view of the kitchen. L'Artusi can accommodate groups of 10 to 110 people in its intimate wine room, second-floor mezzanine, or entire restaurant, making it ideal for business dinners, social gatherings, celebrations and showers, and a variety of other events. As a three-story carriage house in the heart of Manhattan, our residence strikes a balance between the comforting familiarity of a home and the unadorned openness of a Flatiron loft. The Mariner III is a 122-foot classic motor yacht built in 1926, available for private charter in New York City from late spring through mid-fall and in Palm Beach, Florida during the winter months. Docked at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers during the New York season, the vessel offers panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge from its open-air decks and salon. The yacht retains its original Gatsby-era character — varnished teak, gleaming brass fittings, and hand-crafted beveled lead crystal windows — while supporting a range of private events, from wedding ceremonies and rehearsal dinners to corporate gatherings, birthday celebrations, and photo shoots. Guests can dine on the Upper Bridge Deck, gather in the covered aft deck, or move through the salon and bar areas. New York Marble Cemetery is a historic half-acre walled garden tucked into the interior of a city block in Manhattan's East Village, accessible through iron gates at 41½ Second Avenue via a 100-foot private alley. Founded in 1830 as the oldest public non-denominational cemetery in New York City, the grounds are enclosed by 12-foot Tuckahoe marble walls and contain 156 underground burial vaults. The site holds dual designations as a New York City Landmark and a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The cemetery accommodates private events of up to 120 guests on a center lawn spanning roughly 30 by 150 feet. The range of events hosted includes weddings, fundraisers, fashion shows, corporate gatherings, film and television productions, poetry readings, and art shows. Catering, food, BBQ, and alcohol are permitted on the grounds. Quiet music is welcome at or below 60 decibels; dancing, loud music, and Halloween-themed events are not permitted. The venue does not supply bathrooms, electricity, or garbage services, and renters are required to carry $2 million in private event insurance.

Customized lunch and dinner prix fixe menus are prepared in collaboration with you to provide your guests with a variety of options. We can help with floor plans, table decor, special occasion cakes, and even music, and you are free to use whatever vendors you want. Our goal is to make your event planning and execution as stress-free and joyful as possible! Our Spaces THE NORTH GARDEN is the restaurant's focal point: a covered patio that is enclosed for cold weather and serves as a lovely year-round location for small wedding ceremonies or cocktail celebrations, as well as beverages before seated dinners in the neighboring private rooms. The NORTH GARDEN can be leased in conjunction with the POOL ROOM to give additional capacity for couple's dances, cocktails, and other events. THE POOL ROOM can sit up to 52 people for a seated meal and can be paired with the NORTH GARDEN for pre-dinner cocktails, or expanded to seat up to 80 people. When the garden is accessible to other diners, the sliding frosted glass doors are closed for seclusion when a supper for up to 52 guests is planned. THE EAST GARDEN is a quiet extension of the North Garden. It is great for more private parties, holding up to 24 guests at one table for a seated lunch or dinner. It is covered year-round and enclosed for cold weather. Cocktails can be served in the North Garden before to dinner. When il Buco first opened its doors in 1994 as a rustic antique store on NoHo's cobblestoned Bond Street, the restaurant quickly rose to become one of the city's most beloved destinations. Donna Lennard and her then-partner, Italian-born restaurateur Alberto Avalle, were pioneers on Bond Street when they invited their antique customers to join them for their midday "pranzo" before obtaining a wine and beer license and developing an eclectic Mediterranean menu that was equal parts Italian, Spanish, and invention, and dedicated to sourcing the finest prime ingredients both locally and in Avalle's home country of Italy. The culinary philosophy of il Buco is firmly rooted in the Italian tradition of seasonality and the integrity of all of the ingredients used in the restaurant. Our cuisine is influenced by both the motherland of Italy and the Iberian Peninsula. We spend a significant amount of time sourcing ingredients and take great pleasure in working with our producers to ensure that you receive the highest quality product possible. The Merchant's House Museum is New York City's only family home to survive intact — inside and out — from the 19th century. Built in 1832 in the late-Federal and Greek Revival style, the Manhattan rowhouse carries triple landmark designation at the federal, state, and city levels, including National Historic Landmark status since 1966. It was the first building designated under New York City's 1965 Landmarks Preservation Law and remains one of only six residential interior landmarks in the city. The Tredwell family occupied the residence from 1835 until 1933, and more than 3,000 of their original belongings remain in place. The museum is also recognized as Manhattan's only documented site of the Underground Railroad open to the public. For private events, the venue accommodates up to 30 guests for intimate wedding ceremonies, garden elopements, and engagement photography sessions. The 19th-century rear garden serves as the primary ceremony setting; the Greek Revival double parlor and 1850s kitchen provide indoor alternatives when weather requires.
