Lakeview Gardens is an outdoor wedding venue in Umatilla, Florida, about 20 minutes from Mount Dora and within easy reach of Orlando and Ocala. Surrounded by mature oak trees, gardens, open countryside, and lake views, the property offers two distinct places to say “I do.” Sunset Grove offers a lake-view ceremony for up to 150 guests, while the Garden Gazebo is set within the gardens for intimate ceremonies of up to 70. After the ceremony, guests can gather around the pool for cocktail hour before moving to the terrace for dinner and dancing under the market lights. Later in the evening, guests can even jump into the pool. Lakeview’s recommended all-inclusive experience brings together the venue and primary services needed for a smooth wedding day, including day-of coordination. At one time, it was considered to be the most important residential structure in the state of Florida as a whole. James Laughlin, the owner of J&L Steel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had it constructed in 1883, and in 1903, the well-known architect Grosvenor Atterbury had it remodeled so that it could serve as his winter retreat. It was modeled after Alhambra Castle in Spain and was constructed in the Mediterranean Revival and Asian styles. It featured citrus groves, sculptured gardens with rare plants from around the world, a dairy farm, a power plant, and even a bowling alley. In the past, Sydonie was a preserve that encompassed 9,000 acres. The mansion reflects an era of craftsmanship that is difficult to find in contemporary homes because it has 13 fireplaces, 11 bathrooms, and 13 bedrooms. The Howey Mansion Estate is situated on more than three acres of verdant land, making it an ideal location for gatherings of 100 or even 1,000 guests. Prepare for the day in the spacious dressing room that is attached and features a private bathroom. Our breathtaking outdoor ceremony location is tucked away beneath an oak tree that is well over a hundred years old. This tree provides a canopy of shade for your guests and a picture-perfect setting for your photographs. As you make your grand entrance through the vintage double doors onto the paved ceremony site, which features a platform so that all of your guests will have a wonderful view of you tying the knot, the ceremony site will be ready for you to begin. There is room for up to 150 guests in the area designated for the ceremony, and white garden chairs are provided. A nearby pergola is available for use for serving drinks prior to the ceremony as well as for hosting live music during the event. Guests have the option of partaking in outdoor activities such as drinking a beverage or playing a game while the bride and groom are off taking photographs at one of the many picturesque locations located on the premises. The cocktail area is covered and features a total of six high-top tables in addition to expansive paved areas that are surrounded by trees. In addition, guests are welcome to explore the grounds and take their own one-of-a-kind photographs. We have over two dozen cows, incredible landscaping, an original schoolhouse built in the 1900s, and a blueberry farm coming in 2022.

The Harbor Hills Country Club is a nine-hole, semi-private golf course that first opened its doors in 1925 and is situated on the north shore of Buckeye Lake. We take great pride in the fact that we are the best nine-hole golf course in the state of Ohio. The Harbor Hills Country Club provides a private banquet hall that can cater to the requirements of a golf outing in addition to the requirements of formal and special occasions. Your guests will have a pleasant experience in a room that is both cozy and spacious, thanks to the presence of hardwood floors and a large stone gas fireplace. A beautiful view of the neighborhood and a view of Buckeye Lake can be seen from our covered porch, which is directly off of the room.
