    Arlington Plantation House and Gardens

    11532 LA-182, Franklin, LA 70538, USA
    • Spaces for 500 Guests

Arlington Mansion is a three-story Greek Revival estate believed to have been built in the 1830s by Euphroisie Carlin on a Spanish land grant in Franklin, Louisiana. The property sits on seven acres along the banks of Bayou Teche, surrounded by intricately landscaped English gardens filled with mature Magnolias, century-old Oaks, and ancient Cypress trees. The mansion's fluted Composite Order columns, crystal and bronze chandeliers, and period antiques reflect a history that spans a Civil War infirmary, a country club, and decades of careful restoration — including a major renovation of the grounds and interiors begun in 2016. The estate accommodates up to 100 guests and offers exclusive use of the mansion, Carriage House, and grounds for weddings and private events. Couples and guests arrive to a setting where five hours of ceremony and reception time unfolds across gardens, a concrete dance floor, and candlelit interior rooms. The venue also provides overnight accommodations for honeymoon stays, bridal party gatherings, and corporate retreats, with bayou-front views as a backdrop.

  • The Fairfax House

99 Main St, Franklin, LA 70538, USA
    • Spaces for 300 Guests

The Fairfax House is a pre-Civil War Acadiana-style plantation home, built in 1852 and set on a 7-acre property in Franklin, Louisiana, near Bayou Teche. Originally constructed as a family residence, the house takes its name from Fairfax Foster, the last family member to reside there before an extensive restoration brought it to its current condition. Majestic oak trees — many more than a century old — and lush bamboo frame the grounds, while manicured gardens and sweeping porches lend the property a sense of Southern elegance. The venue accommodates a wide range of gatherings, from weddings and receptions to seminars, reunions, business luncheons, dinner parties, showers, retreats, and afternoon tea. In-house catering is available, and the staff coordinates with local photographers, florists, and other vendors to support event planning. A signature floating spiral staircase and the expansive lawns provide a striking backdrop for photography. Guest accommodations — six private rooms, each with a private bath — allow for intimate overnight stays before or after an event.
