    Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa sits on over 500 acres within Unaweep Canyon — one of the most distinctive red rock canyons in Western Colorado — at 4,500 feet elevation on the Uncompahgre Plateau, approximately 60 miles from Grand Junction. Founded by Discovery Channel creator John Hendricks, the resort was built around the natural beauty and adventure of the surrounding canyon landscape, which carries deep ties to Native American heritage and frontier history dating back to the 1880s. The resort hosts weddings and private events across seven distinct indoor and outdoor venues, accommodating gatherings from intimate ceremonies of 40 guests to celebrations of up to 300 in the Mission Bell Amphitheater. The Palisade Event Center — the largest indoor venue — accommodates up to 200 guests in its Grand Hall and Sunset Atrium, suited for both formal and casual affairs. Additional outdoor settings include the shaded Cottonwood Grove, the serene Ponds ceremony site, and the open-air Auto Museum Front Courtyard.
