It's a location where a softly running river replaces the steady stream of interruptions, and the harsh sounds of city traffic give way to chirping birds and croaking frogs. Dr Snyder's Drugless Health Sanatorium, which included the structure that is now Inn on the River, was part of a unique complex known as Dr Snyder's Drugless Health Sanatorium at the turn of the century. Snyder, who advertised himself as a "magnetic healer," was well aware that people enjoy being pampered. He fed them well, gave them hot baths and cozy chambers, and generally treated them with the type of personal attention that made them want to come back again and again. The Inn now has a prized Texas historical monument. Although much has changed throughout the years, Dr. Snyder's spirit has not. Because of our modest size, we can respond to the specific demands of your small party. You'll get personalized treatment that you won't find at larger hotels, conference centers, or wedding locations. We don't pretend to have medical powers, but we do believe that each guest should depart feeling rested and rejuvenated, as the doctor did. There is also a bride's dressing cottage and a groom's dressing cabin, both of which have full bathrooms.
