    • 1 Landmark

The Merchant's House Museum is New York City's only family home to survive intact — inside and out — from the 19th century. Built in 1832 in the late-Federal and Greek Revival style, the Manhattan rowhouse carries triple landmark designation at the federal, state, and city levels, including National Historic Landmark status since 1966. It was the first building designated under New York City's 1965 Landmarks Preservation Law and remains one of only six residential interior landmarks in the city. The Tredwell family occupied the residence from 1835 until 1933, and more than 3,000 of their original belongings remain in place. The museum is also recognized as Manhattan's only documented site of the Underground Railroad open to the public. For private events, the venue accommodates up to 30 guests for intimate wedding ceremonies, garden elopements, and engagement photography sessions. The 19th-century rear garden serves as the primary ceremony setting; the Greek Revival double parlor and 1850s kitchen provide indoor alternatives when weather requires.

Alison Cayne has been teaching cooking since 2002. At the time of the company's inception, she set out on a mission to educate people about the impact that the food we buy, eat, and prepare has on the environment, society, and our daily lives. As a three-story carriage house in the heart of Manhattan, our residence strikes a balance between the comforting familiarity of a home and the unadorned openness of a Flatiron loft. • Featured photo from The Maritime Hotel

    The Maritime Hotel

    363 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011, USA

As the National Maritime Union's headquarters, the nautically themed structure was originally designed by New Orleans modernist architect Albert Ledner in 1968 to serve as the union's headquarters. In the late 1940s, Ledner worked as an apprentice under the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, where he developed his own playful style. This fanciful approach to modernism was long dismissed by design purists, but The Maritime is now considered to be part of a wave of modernist architecture that is being viewed in a completely different light than it was previously. It had been open since 2003 but had undergone a transformation to better reflect its enviable location in the heart of Manhattan's fashion, art, food and business districts as well as the city's technology and creative industries. It was the first luxury hotel in the neighborhood, distinguished by its signature porthole windows, white-tiled exterior, and elevated outdoor terraces overlooking Ninth Avenue. As the modern, cool heart of Manhattan's Meatpacking District/West Chelsea neighborhood, the Maritime Hotel has maintained its position.

Film and picture shoots, weddings, rehearsal dinners, wine and culinary events, anniversaries, product launches, corporate receptions, editor events, holiday parties, and other personal festivities of all kinds are all possible at this location. This private hidden gem - a townhouse with 9,000 square feet of indoor space and a 1,500 square foot decked rooftop garden - is located on a quiet stretch of Hudson Street where the Far West Village and the Meat Packing District cross. It is a fantastic venue to organize a celebration because it specializes in smaller, more intimate events that are tailored to the client's specific demands and create the unique mood desired for each event.

S.O.B.’s, also known as Sounds of Brazil, is a legendary live music venue in the lower Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo. It was opened by owner and director Larry Gold in June 1982. Gold opened the venue with the purpose of exposing the musical wealth and heritage of the Afro-Latino Diaspora to as many people as possible. True to its mission, it has become renowned as the premiere venue not only for World Music, but all genres, in New York City and the world over. Latin legends like Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz and Eddie Palmieri were some of the first to hit the stage, but contemporary superstars like Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Jill Scott, Justin Timberlake, Cardi B and more have all graced the SOBs stage. Outside of Latin, Hip-Hop, Haitian, Caribbean, and world music, SOBs has also consistently booked alternative acts like Boy Pablo, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Icon for Hire. Emerging artists and industry veterans alike love the opportunity to connect with their fans on a personal level in the intimacy of the room. Today the SOBs draws both local and international crowds and continues to specialize in Latin music, R&B, Hip-Hop, Haitian, Brazilian, Caribbean, Alternative, and World music.
