With over 100 events pre-booked for 2023, the Event Center is in high demand as an affordable 5 star venue, with full services including setup, cleanup, complimentary white linens at every event, premier sound and lighting systems, all day access, access to our commercial kitchen, complimentary ice, and options including dinnerware. We are Hawai'i's only non-profit hospitality and event venue creating jobs for people with disabilities.

Hilo Hawaiian Hotel sits on the edge of Hilo Bay on Hawaiʻi's Big Island, offering an oceanfront setting with views of Mauna Kea, Moku'ula Island, and Lili'uokalani Gardens. The property has welcomed guests with aloha for half a century and recently became the first Trademark Collection by Wyndham hotel in Hawaiʻi, while remaining managed by the Castle Resorts & Hotels team that has long been at the center of Hilo's community. The hotel has been voted Best Banquet Facilities by the US Local Business Association and earned multiple reader recognition awards from Hilo's Tribune Herald. Nani Mau Gardens is a 23-acre tropical botanical garden and event venue on the Big Island of Hawaii, located less than three miles from Hilo's downtown, airport, and cruise port. The name means "Beautiful Forever" in Hawaiian — a fitting description for grounds that were transformed from papaya farmland into one of the island's most distinctive event settings after opening to the public in 1972. The gardens are home to more than 2,000 plant species, 200 varieties of flowering plants, 100 varieties of tropical fruit trees, and a notable orchid collection that includes Venus Slipper, Moth, Dancing-lady, and Cattleya orchids. Seven distinct event spaces range from indoor air-conditioned rooms to covered lanais with garden views, a serene gazebo, and open lawns sized for concerts and luaus — accommodating intimate gatherings of 40 and larger events of up to 240 guests. Nani Mau Gardens serves as a venue for weddings, birthday and graduation parties, corporate conferences, and cultural celebrations, with in-house catering centered on locally inspired, garden-to-table cuisine. ʻImiloa Astronomy Center sits on nine acres within the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo's Science and Technology Park, where Hawaiian cultural traditions and modern astronomy come together under one roof. Opened in 2006, the 40,000-square-foot facility was built to honor Maunakea by connecting early Polynesian navigation history with the discoveries made by contemporary astronomers working atop the mountain. The center's name — ʻImiloa — means "to seek far" in Hawaiian, capturing the spirit of both the navigators who crossed the Pacific by the stars and the scientists who map the universe from Hawaiʻi Island today. The center offers four rentable spaces for private events, from the 150-seat Moanahōkū Hall with its stage and dramatic lighting to Hawaiʻi Island's only planetarium, which seats 120 for exclusive screenings or presentations. A 12,000-square-foot Exhibit Hall filled with astronomy and Hawaiian culture displays provides an exceptional backdrop for receptions and dinners. Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden occupies a 17-acre coastal rainforest valley in Onomea, on Hawaii's Big Island, where more than 2,500 tropical and subtropical plant species grow along 1.25 miles of trails. The garden was established in 1984 by Dan and Pauline Lutkenhouse, who spent years transforming the Onomea Valley by hand into the lush, accessible landscape it is today. The setting moves from canopied jungle paths down to the valley floor, where mountain-fed streams and the three-tiered Onomea Falls open onto views of Onomea Bay along the Hamakua Coast. The garden is a private, independent nonprofit, drawing approximately 125,000 visitors annually from around the world.

Working with the Kaimea Estates Ohana for our wedding can only be described as a blessing. There is no denying the venue's beauty. We had never even considered having the dream of getting married and holding the reception in a lychee orchard. The house was stunning and offered the ideal amount of nature while still having contemporary facilities that made our visitors feel at home. Everyone left the wedding wishing it had gone on longer, and the sunset was the ideal way to say goodbye to our guests. Having said that, I still believe that I have not even begun to express how amazing it was to work with these lovely folks. For our ceremony and celebration, Kaimea Estates Ohana was able to provide lovely tables and chairs that complemented our rustic style. When we wanted to talk about the venue, they were quick to answer. They were really receptive and communicative. They made it possible for us as a couple to more easily organize the ceremony and reception by allowing us to come to the property multiple times to make plans. The personnel on the wedding day was incredibly friendly and helpful. They moved around, keeping an eye on our visitors and ensuring that everyone had what they needed and was as comfortable as possible. We were about to cut the cake off of the bride and groom table at our reception since we didn't have a cake table when one of the staff members hurried home to fetch a table so we could cut the cake (not walk, run). Everyone took their jobs seriously, and the whole mood of the event was enhanced by their radiant, loving attitudes. We are so grateful to this family for making our day full with nothing but love and aloha.
