Housed in a historic former textile factory in the heart of downtown Commerce, the Commerce Civic Center blends industrial heritage with modern event versatility. The building — originally home to the Blue Bell/Wrangler plant — was purchased by the city in 1988 and most recently underwent a complete renovation, reopening in January 2025 with updated spaces and a new outdoor courtyard available for rental. The center sits 60 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and offers five distinct event spaces spanning a range of sizes. The Harmony Grove Room on the upper level is the venue's largest, accommodating up to 750 guests with its factory-style windows, hardwood floors, wet bar, and access to a commercial kitchen. On the main level, the Commerce Room seats up to 100 guests and features hardwood floors and an in-house sound system with wireless microphones; the Cold Sassy Room holds up to 65 guests in a space defined by exposed brick walls; the Peach Room accommodates up to 40; and the Executive Board Room provides a table setting for up to 12. The Civic Center is available for weddings, receptions, banquets, business meetings, pageants, and private gatherings, with rental inquiries handled by the city's events staff.

They envisioned bringing a comfortable and tastefully designed meeting area together for sharing in life's important occasions, starting with an open naturalistic setting. The wide view across the meadow to the lovely white farm barn greets you as you enter the property. Closer investigation reveals the attention to detail and forethought in the modern embellishments. As you approach the large factory-style steel doorway, you are attracted into an interior with soaring exposed rafter ceilings that transform the plentiful natural light into a moving waltz across the area. By night, thoughtfully placed barn lights and café strings transform the modern gambrel barn into a lovely evening glow. We appreciate your imagination and desire for a one-of-a-kind wedding. The Thompson House and Gardens is located in the small quiet town of Bogart, Georgia, just minutes from downtown Athens and its quaint cafés, antique shops, and of course the University of Georgia. The House a historic Victorian farmhouse built in the 1880 by Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. The House remained in the Thompson family for over 100 years until On Guest transformed it into a beautiful and unique setting for weddings, receptions, and social gatherings. The Thompson House and Gardens embraces nature and elegance at its finest, as demonstrated by its ever-changing display of color and fragrance. The inviting wraparound porch offers guests a place to sit and marvel at the meticulously maintained grounds and experience the serenity and tranquility of the garden’s soothing water feature. Guests may even get a glimpse of butterflies whimsically fluttering atop the gardens flora. All the while, you may be serenaded by the romantic sound of a train rumbling along just outside the grounds of the garden, bringing you back to a simpler time. The Venue at Grant Hill Farms is the ideal location for your wedding or celebration, nestled among 88 acres of tranquil farmland. From start to finish, we pride ourselves on being very hands-on with each event. Everyone has a particular vision for their wedding day, and it is our honest wish to assist each couple in making their vision a magical reality. Our farm is only 12 miles from I-85 and the Tanger Outlet Center in Commerce, as well as 16 miles from downtown Athens. Our 8,000 square foot climate-controlled main building features a spacious bridal suite with make-up counters and private restroom, a groom's suite, a prep kitchen for caterers to warm and plate food, an open concept banquet hall that can accommodate up to 225 guests for a sit-down dinner with plenty of room for your dance floor and DJ, a grand indoor and outdoor stone fireplace, and a cover charge. In addition to the main building, the grounds at Grant Hill Farm include a 4,000 square foot open air barn. It can be used for rehearsal dinners, ceremonies with a cover, or as part of your wedding reception. The tranquil rolling hills provide the perfect backdrop for our primary outdoor ceremony setting, which includes a fixed arbor. In 2015, the Bouchard family bought the land that is now Grant Hill Farms with the sole intention of turning it into a wedding destination. Kevin and Jamie reside on the farm with their three children.

The Hill is a historic weddings and events venue set on a private property a few miles from downtown Athens, Georgia. The grounds feature four period-furnished homes that have been artfully preserved — the Hodgson Lumpkin House, the Donald-Epting House, the Rock House, and the Quinn Cottage — spanning architectural styles from the late 1700s through the early twentieth century. Each home offers its own character: the Donald-Epting House anchors the property with gardens, open fields, and an in-ground pool; the Rock House is a solid fieldstone cottage built in 1920; and the Quinn Cottage provides a large back porch overlooking the grounds. Together the homes create a self-contained retreat well suited for full wedding weekends, combining ceremony and reception space with on-site overnight accommodations. Epting Events, an award-winning catering and event design company, serves as the exclusive caterer for all events at The Hill.

The business built its reputation on slow-smoked pork, tender chicken, and smoked brisket — all served with signature house-made sauces — before transitioning from a Broad Street restaurant to focus exclusively on catering and to-go pickup. Saucehouse brings Southern barbecue to weddings, corporate events, birthday celebrations, Greek Life gatherings, tailgates, and family occasions throughout Athens and the surrounding region. Two service tiers are available: full-service catering, where staff handle setup and cleanup, and pick-up or drop-off packages for smaller gatherings.
