The McKinney Center occupies a renovated 1940 schoolhouse in Jonesborough, Tennessee that served as the town's Black grade school until integration in 1964. Operated through Jonesborough's Mary B. Martin Program for the Arts, the center preserves the building's history from the Booker T. Washington School while running it today as a multicultural arts education hub and community gathering space. The center's auditorium and classroom spaces are available for rent for weddings, receptions, anniversary parties, reunions, corporate dinners, awards ceremonies, meetings, and seminars. A 2012 renovation brought the facility modern conveniences — Wi-Fi, accessible restrooms, and a catering kitchen — while retaining its vintage character, including a stage, wood floors, and tall schoolhouse windows. Rental fees include tables, chairs, and set-up and breakdown, giving planners a straightforward path from booking to event day at a venue that doubles as a piece of local heritage.

Martin Storytelling Hall and its surrounding grounds, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains among tree-lined streets and traditional brick sidewalks. The Center's campus offers a range of settings for weddings, retreats, meetings, and conferences, including the second-floor Sara Keys Parlor with its balcony overlooking downtown, the brick-lined Courtyard and Plaza for receptions and parties, the light-filled Library for meetings and small gatherings, a three-acre park with walking trails and gardens for outdoor ceremonies, and a 95-seat theater for performances and lectures. Event rentals come with amenities including table rental, a catering kitchen, free Wi-Fi, a projector and sound system, and a bridal suite option based on availability, all within walking distance of Jonesborough's historic lodging and Main Street shops.

Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site sits on 17 acres in Johnson City, Tennessee, anchored by 11 historic buildings, a cave, and an active spring pond. The property was acquired by the State of Tennessee in 1944, restored by the nonprofit Tipton-Haynes Historical Association between 1965 and 1970, and opened to the public for tours in 1971 — giving the grounds a layered, lived-in history that shows up in every corner of the site. That history makes for a distinctive backdrop for weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and photo sessions, with the picturesque buildings, cave, and pond offering a different scene for every season. The outdoor grounds seat more than 150 guests with reclaimed picnic tables, including handicap-accessible seating, while the Visitor Center Conference Room holds up to 100 guests with tables and chairs included, along with a projector and screen for presentations, meetings, and retreats. Brides can prepare in the Library, a private room with its own bathroom and mirrors, while the Cabin serves as a getting-ready space for the groom's party. A recently completed communal kitchen — stocked with commercial-grade appliances including a three-bay sink, ice machine, and high-temp dishwasher — is available to rentals, and outside catering is welcome throughout the site.
