Coleman Sr. and opened on April 18, 1929, to a full house of 1,600 guests. Its Spanish Colonial Mission-style exterior gives way to an opulent Louis XV interior, decorated with gargoyles, dolphins, cherubs, and ornate detailing throughout. The theatre is also home to the "Mighty Wurlitzer" pipe organ, built in 1928 and delivered just before opening night — the only Wurlitzer organ built that year still in its original home. Operated today as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Coleman Theatre hosts live performances, film screenings, and community programming alongside private event rentals. The theatre itself seats up to 1,100 guests and offers a large stage, off-stage dressing rooms, A/V capabilities, and one of the largest movie screens in Oklahoma, making it suited to concerts, recitals, and large gatherings. A separate Coleman Ballroom, with bamboo floors, a grand staircase and lobby entrance, and a commercial prep kitchen, gives receptions and conferences their own dedicated space. For weddings, the Coleman Theatre accommodates guest lists ranging from 25 to 300, with ceremonies held beneath the restored Italian chandelier and to the sound of the theatre's historic pipe organ, followed by receptions in the adjoining ballroom.
