The Clarkston Community Center is a nonprofit event and community gathering space housed in a repurposed early-20th-century school building in Clarkston, Georgia. Founded in 1994, the center serves one of the most culturally diverse communities in the United States, connecting longtime residents with newly arrived families and refugees through arts, education, wellness, and cultural programming. The facility offers more than 10,000 square feet of indoor event space, including Angora Hall — a 2,900-square-foot room with vaulted exposed-beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, a curtained stage, and a baby grand piano — alongside smaller rooms suited for meetings and workshops. The turn-of-the-century architecture and hardwood floors give the building a distinctive character well suited to ceremonies, performances, receptions, and cultural events. A uniform and linen factory transformed into a spacious event space. Since 1994, we have operated as a family-owned company. I grew up with my parents who owned and ran a uniform and linen firm that is still in business now. When they launched a linen rental business in downtown Chamblee in 2001, they catered to some of the most elite clientele in the greater Atlanta region. From Turner Field to Bacchanalia, we learnt all about the ins and outs of being gracious in the hospitality business. In 2016, we sold the company, and in 2017, we renamed the space Factory Atlanta to reflect the new ownership. Ideally, we would like to collaborate with people who have a clear picture in mind for their project, their special day, or their milestone event. The Showroom is 2400 square feet and can accommodate events of up to 100 people. The glass garage door provides views of the spectacular railroad lines in the back and has enough space to accommodate a truck or a car. A lasting impression on your guests will be created by the Showroom. The Factory Floor provides you with 5600 square feet of creative flexibility. Because Mr. Mauldin was constructing the building out of granite from Stone Mountain, it was the talk of the town while it was under construction. The residents of the town questioned if a structure composed of such material could possibly last. It's been called The Langley General Store, The Mercantile Exchange, A Feed and Seed Company, the Grinder, and the Goldkist Building over the years. Our venue, which first opened its doors in 2008, was designed exclusively for unique gatherings. The high ceilings of 100-year-old rough-hewn wood, archways, chandeliers, furnishings, and attention to detail preserve and maintain the authenticity and charm of the turn of the century. 550 Trackside was built in 1904 as a Cotton Warehouse and is made of Stone Mountain granite.
