LARC's Acadian Village is a 32-acre heritage site in Lafayette, Louisiana, featuring an authentic recreation of an 1800s Cajun village — seven of its eleven buildings are original 19th-century homes donated by descendant families, constructed with wooden pegs, mud walls, hand-hewn cypress timbers, and high-peaked roofs. The site was developed in the early 1970s to preserve Acadian cultural heritage, and all revenue supports LARC, a local nonprofit that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
