The Mathis family purchased the property in 2000 and has spent more than two decades restoring it, rehabilitating the upper floors into twelve uniquely themed guest rooms while preserving original architectural elements including Douglas fir flooring, 12-foot wood ceilings, and historic display cases. The Great Room serves as the primary event space, accommodating up to 150 guests for weddings, receptions, business conferences, yoga retreats, family reunions, concerts, and community events. The room features dimmable chandelier and spotlight lighting, velvet drapes for light control, an HD projector with retractable screen, a professional sound system, and configurable tables and chairs. In-house catering options are available through the venue's on-site dining team. Originally built to house lumber mill workers for the McCloud River Lumber Company, the hotel blends historic character with modern amenities and has earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The property offers indoor and outdoor event spaces that accommodate gatherings from 20 to 180 guests, making it well-suited for intimate rehearsal dinners, full wedding weekends, corporate retreats, family reunions, and private celebrations. The Cascade Room Event Hall, a former 1930s lumber mill cafeteria and dance hall, features 14-foot coffered ceilings with hand-stenciled wood beams.
