Meridian Valley Country Club opened its doors for the first time on July 1, 1967. Despite the fact that there was just a temporary clubhouse and only nine of the 18 holes were available for play on that Saturday morning, those who teed it up did so again and again. Despite the fact that the fairway grass was well on its way to reaching full maturity, the theme of the day was "Take No Divots" since all shots were needed to be taken from tees. The opening day regulation had no effect on the level of competitiveness on the first day. The second nine holes, as well as the permanent clubhouse, were dedicated in May 1968 with a similar amount of hoopla. Several substantial modifications have been made to the golf course throughout the years, including irrigation, drainage, and a large number of flowering trees and plants. The course is currently open all year round and plays "dry." Meridian Valley Country Club has been a gathering place for members and guests to commemorate life's most important occasions since 1967. Covington Cellars began as a hobby in a garage in Covington, Washington, before its founders, Cindy and David, turned their passion for winemaking into a business in 2002. The winery later relocated production to Woodinville, becoming the 19th winery to open in what has grown into a major wine destination. Its Woodinville tasting room sits in the Artisan Hill District, alongside a related tasting room in nearby Maltby, where the wine is produced. The Woodinville location offers two settings for private gatherings: a cozy space suited to smaller groups of 10 to 25 guests, and a larger space that can hold up to 120, with room for live music. A commercial kitchen on site allows for easy food service, and an optional kids' play space is available, making the venue workable for birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, corporate retreats, and wine club celebrations alike. On-premise chefs are on hand to help design a menu for private events. Covington Cellars also hosts a recurring lineup of Friday evening live music nights in Woodinville, pairing wine and food with local bands.

A river-rock fireplace and hand-hewn log walls set the tone at Preston Community Center, a Works Progress Administration building raised in 1938 and added to Washington State's Heritage Register in 2008. Just off I-90 outside Issaquah, the historic log structure pairs a raised-stage multipurpose room with a separate meeting room for food service, a full-service warming kitchen, and two rock fireplaces, while an upstairs bride's-ready room with a private bath, an attendant's room, and a groom's room support wedding parties getting ready on-site. Outdoors, a wedding court with a seasonal party tent and wrought-iron table settings extends the celebration into the surrounding grounds, and the facility's hardwood floors double as a dance surface for receptions. Depending on setup, the center comfortably hosts 80 to 120 guests indoors, or up to 150 across combined indoor and outdoor space, for ceremonies, receptions, corporate retreats, seminars, and meetings. Bookings run through King County Parks' Regional Scheduling office up to 18 months in advance, with an on-site facility coordinator present throughout each event.

The inventiveness of our founders, Prentice and Virginia Bloedel, together with their shared vision and their deep and abiding love of the natural world resulted in the creation of a natural marvel that spans 150 acres and is known as Bloedel Reserve. They meticulously converted a rough-hewn Northwest forest into a harmonic collection of manicured gardens, structural elements, and distinctive landscapes, using nature as both a canvas and paint by working with the difficult geology of the area. The Bloedel Reserve is a public garden and woodland preserve that has gained a reputation on an international scale. Explore almost 150 acres of sculpted landscapes, woodlands, meadows, and animal habitats while strolling along maintained routes across the area. Open from Tuesday through Sunday, all year round, regardless of the weather. The area that is now known as Bloedel Reserve has a rich history that dates back to a time long before it was owned by the Bloedel family. Recognizing, appreciating, and honoring that history is the only thing that makes sense given the circumstances. Mount Rainier rises across the water while a mid-century lodge holds the shoreline of Lake Wilderness. Built in 1950 by the Seattle architectural firm Young & Richardson, Carlston & Detlie, the lodge earned an American Institute of Architects honor and a Washington State Design Award in 1952 for the way it steps into its sloped, lakefront site. The building traces back further still: an early-1900s homestead farm that the Jacobsen family opened to hunters and anglers grew into a trio of resorts through the 1920s, and by 1939 the expanded Gaffney's Grove drew as many as 9,000 visitors a day for baseball, tennis, a skating rink, and swimming beaches. King County designated the lodge a landmark in 1997 for its postwar Northwest architecture, and it took its current name in 2003. Today the lodge hosts up to 220 guests across its main floor, mezzanine, and lower level, with a warming kitchen, two changing rooms, a courtyard balcony, a covered patio, and a lawn included in the rental. A 12-by-12 dance floor, a sound system with Bluetooth and HDMI inputs, and wireless microphones come with the space. Renters bring their own caterer or self-cater, since the kitchen is licensed for warming and cold prep only. Weddings, receptions, banquets, and corporate gatherings all fill the calendar here, on grounds that have drawn crowds to this lakeshore since long before the lodge itself was built.
