ABOUT OUR HISTORIC BUILDING In the mid-1940's, a group of civic minded citizens came together to make Dorothy Jackson’s dream come to fruition: to make Middleburg the social hub of Loudoun and Fauquier County. Over the years, the center has hosted the Kennedy's, Elizabeth Taylor, and Hank Williams, just to name a few. The residents of Middleburg have fostered a pristine public space for everybody to enjoy. Whether you're looking to host an event, or just take a walk in the park, we hope to see you here soon. OUR VENUE From intimate gatherings in the loft, to grand galas in the ballroom, the indoor facility can accommodate up to 320 people in the full venue depending on layout. Our facilities offer an elegant space featuring 24" soaring ceilings in the Grand Ballroom, 12,000+ square feet of facility space, private gardens and grounds, and elegant architecture that serves as a timeless backdrop to your core memories. The five acre property backs up to the Salamander Resort, is down the street from the historic Red Fox Inn, and includes a public pool, shaded picnic grounds with grills, two playgrounds, an open field, and secluded herb garden and patio - as well as ample private parking and all walkable to towns finest eateries and establishments. EVENTS Mt. Defiance is the perfect location for your next private or group event, wedding, or other special occasion. With a big area and facilities, our lovely Cider Barn can accommodate gatherings for up to 200 people. Wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and family pictures can all be held on our expansive porch and patio. Our Philosophy Cider is finally reclaiming its rightful place as America's table drink, a position it had during Colonial times and for much of the nineteenth century to the present. The different schools of thought about cider are evident today, particularly in Virginia where we obtain our apples and produce our cider: from the traditional farm cideries where classic cider apples are pressed and the juice fully fermented with only yeast added, to the cutting edge cider makers who are influenced by the craft beer movement and infuse their ciders with a riotous blend of new and historic natural flavors. Our Ciders are made in small batches. When it comes to our Cidery, Mount Defiance is extremely proud to offer both classic and craft ciders. In addition to traditional farmhouse blends of dry cider and single variety cider, we enjoy infusing fresh ginger for a seriously ginger-flavored cider, as well as a full spectrum of infused and co-fermented ciders ranging from honey (cyser) to blueberries to our five pepper cider, which is designed to withstand barbecues. Every season comes with it a new set of flavors to tempt our clients. Since we feel that there should be a cider to fit a wide variety of tastes and food pairings, our style may best be described as eclectic and approachable. Warm features like Virginia Southern Yellow Pine post and beam timbers, unique ambient lighting paired with Swarovski crystal chandeliers, and 35 foot magnificent ceilings are just a few of our venue's many highlights. We are in a historic setting, open four seasons with a welcoming atmosphere at any time of year. We placed Ultraviolet lights in our HVAC systems in 2020, which ensures that the air flowing from our system is free of viruses and molds and filters the air in the room continually. In addition, unlike most barns, we have enormous windows that embrace the natural light that streams in via ceiling cupolas and windows from the loft, billowing through the room to the French glass doors leading to our covered verandas. Guests can take in the breathtaking views of the Middleburg countryside, which serve as a lovely backdrop for lifelong memories! We are not simply a small barn in the country; we have a cutting-edge facility that can host any type of function. Our suppliers can make anything happen for you at our location, and our fundraising auction events have raised millions of dollars! In our new event barn, we can seat 350 people comfortably or 700 people theatrical style for film sets, music, concerts, fundraisers, and other events. In our 48,000 square foot barn, the farm can seat up to 1,000 people for a seated supper. We offer plenty of parking for passengers and buses, as well as valet service. We can customize your corporate event to meet your specific requirements. You're only limited by your creativity when it comes to what you can do. Our vendors are professionals in creating an intimate setting for a small gathering or a large gathering with live music and a dance floor, dance floor, lights on the pond, or the starry night sky from any location on the site.

Chrysalis Vineyards sits on more than 400 acres of historic farmland in Loudoun County, Virginia — land George Washington once called "the breadbasket of the American Revolution." Fifty of those acres are planted with vines, including what the vineyard describes as the largest planting of Norton, Virginia's native grape, in the world, alongside other European varieties suited to the local soil and climate. Private events are hosted at the Champe Ford Events Center, a dedicated space on the property separate from the winery's main tasting room. The Events Center offers indoor and outdoor space for weddings, private tastings, birthday parties, and corporate gatherings. The tasting room offers guided and self-guided tastings alongside food from Little River Bakehouse and Locksley Farmstead Cheese, set among the vineyard's rows of Norton and other varietals.

Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn is a historic farm dating to 1805, set on 47 rolling acres with mountain views in Middleburg, Virginia's wine country, about 20 minutes from Dulles Airport and an hour from Washington, D.C. What began as a one-room log cabin grew through the 19th century into the estate known as Hillcrest, which withstood a Civil War battle between Union and Confederate forces before falling into disrepair; new owners restored the property in 1965 and renamed it The Briar Patch, adding a swimming pool and gardens while preserving its historic character. Today the estate hosts weddings and private events for up to 200 guests in The Fox Den, a nearly 5,000-square-foot event building with a large caterer's kitchen and space for ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and dinner and dancing. The grounds also offer multiple outdoor ceremony sites and a pool area for rehearsal dinners. Overnight guests can stay across the property's main house, cottage, and Chicken Coop, accommodating roughly 32 guests, with the one-bedroom cottage often used as a bridal suite.
