Your menu can be customized to your liking or you can let Chef Sean craft the perfect menu for your event. We don’t stop there! We offer flexible bar packages for events large and small and will work with you to curate custom beverage menus to compliment your event or theme. Foreign Cinema offers a variety of private dining options for groups of up to 350 people, ranging from small hors d'oeuvres and cocktails to huge, formal seated dinners. Our chefs tailor each menu, incorporating sustainable, seasonal, and market availability into the meal while also taking into consideration the guests' specific preferences and the restaurant's exceptional style of globally-inspired food. Our newest event area is located on the second floor. This quaint spot, located just past the Courtyard, is decorated with an Amate-style bespoke mural by Jet Martinez and designer floor tiles, among other things. This is a picture-perfect location for your next party, made even more appealing by the addition of café lights and heating. From April through October, we are available. In collaboration with acclaimed international art dealer Martin Muller of Modernism Inc. in San Francisco, Foreign Cinema presents Modernism West, an exclusive and one-of-a-kind private dining gallery featuring evolving, curated international artwork, a modern sound audio/visual system, a built-in bar, 18-foot-high ceilings, skylights, and a wall of windows with an electronic shading system. This theatrical grand balcony space, which overlooks the main dining room below, provides guests with the option to share the energy and mood of Foreign Cinema in a semi-private setting, thanks to exposed beams, concrete walls, and wood floors throughout the space.

Conveniently located at the intersection of sf’s two main thoroughfares (south van ness and market), svn west’s open floor plan offers maximum versatility with over 100,000 square feet of event space on three levels, including a spacious outdoor rooftop. Formerly the home of the Fillmore West and Carousel Ballroom, SVN West amps up any event through three floors of raw venue space that are steeped in musical history. The main hall, reverently named Carousel, showcased dozens of concerts during its brief operation from 1968 to 1971, including musical legends like the Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, B.B. King, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, and more. Conveniently located at the intersection of SF’s two main thoroughfares (South Van Ness and Market), SVN West features over 100,000 sq. ft. of event space. The open floor plan offers maximum versatility and includes Carousel and its adjacent rooftop, along with a spacious mezzanine and additional ground floor event space. The space dates back to the late 1920’s when El Patio Ballroom opened there, hosting swing and big band musicians like Les Brown, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, and Harry James. At some point, it became the Carousel Ballroom which operated up until 1968 when Bill Graham took it over. After about six months, he changed the name to Fillmore West (Fillmore East being his auditorium in New York City) which hosted some of the biggest names in rock and roll during its brief three year run. We built our tasting room in the heart of SoMa to serve as an urban oasis reflecting the look and feel of Napa Valley with an expansive outdoor patio (with expandable roof) and chic indoor space in SoMa, San Francisco. The versatile space accommodates events ranging from small gatherings to large scale productions including product launches, corporate receptions, sit-down dinners, photography / video shoots, fashion shows, art shows, film screenings, and dances parties. Capacities for events at Mezzanine SF range from 75 to 1,000. Mezzanine SF offers a full-service professional event staff and all the services necessary for the creation and execution of your event, including but not limited to catering, audio, lighting, entertainment booking, management, and custom décor. Mint Plaza (located immediately adjacent to Mezzanine SF), is also available for those who wish to host joint indoor/outdoor events or tented and open-air events.
