Built in 1899 in McKinney, Texas, the historic, antique farmhouse was moved to its current 11-acre location in 1979. Richard and Shea Lyn bought the historic house and land in 2008 and turned it into Texas' most unusual wedding venue. Brushy Creek Event Center sits on 53 acres in Farmersville, Texas, where it shares its land with ThrowAway Ponies, a horse rescue nonprofit. Founded in 2016 by Karen Bander and Jaclyn Bander, the venue hosts weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events in a rustic, country setting. The property's main barn spans 3,400 square feet, with a 30-by-60-foot main area that comfortably seats 110 guests for dinner, dancing, and a DJ setup, and holds up to 150 guests at max occupancy. The adjoining "Saloon" bar area opens onto both the outdoor patio and the indoor main space, with wine glasses available for rent, two mini fridges, and ample counter space. A groom's room and a full kitchen with two refrigerators, a dishwasher, and an oven round out the barn's amenities, with dishware and kitchenware also available for rent. Outdoors, couples can hold a ceremony overlooking the property's pond and tree line before moving the reception inside. Seawolf is a beautiful 40-foot-long by 25-foot-wide sailing catamaran, hand-built from beautiful Spanish cedar. Its guest capacity is 49. It sails from the Harbor in Rockwall, where it has a private docking area between the shore and the lighthouse. Seawolf is perfect for spending time on the water, with plenty of seating all over the deck if you’d like to sit and relax, and open space at the bow which is perfect for pictures. It also has electric flushing toilets and a large changing room below deck. Scott didn’t miss a single detail when he built Seawolf.
