Boscobel opened as a nonprofit museum sixty years ago. Built between 1804 and 1808, it was originally the dream house of wealthy Loyalists. By the 1950s, after falling into disrepair, it was demolished. Preservationists saved as many architectural fragments as possible and reassembled them fifteen miles north, where the Neoclassical mansion was restored back to—and even beyond—its original grandeur. Boscobel was saved as a beautiful piece of art. Now an esteemed Historic House Museum containing one of the finest collections of decorative arts from the Federal period, Boscobel offers admission to 68 acres of our grounds, featuring lush gardens and a woodland trail. Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Boscobel directly overlooks Constitution Marsh toward the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, showcasing dramatic views of the Hudson River.

Structures on the property include an 18th century farmhouse, a 150-year old classic red barn, an elegant estate home built in the 1920s, a boathouse and various cabins. With 19 rooms available for overnight accommodation, you and your guests will enjoy a stay on a working farm while knowing that you are supporting an agricultural nonprofit with a mission that cultivates environmental resiliency and regional prosperity. WEDDINGS The focal point of your event is an elegant fieldstone house set amidst the landscape of a true working regenerative farm. The soft lowing of cows on distant hills can be heard as your guests dine on local fare coordinated through our favorite chefs and caterers. The Powelton Club is a private country club established in 1882 in Balmville, New York, set on a 100-acre property overlooking the Hudson River and the Hudson Highlands, approximately 50 miles north of New York City. Founded as the Powelton Lawn Tennis Club and a charter member of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, the club has been welcoming members and their guests for more than 140 years. The current clubhouse — a red brick building designed by Francis Abreu and completed in 1930 — serves as the setting for weddings, private celebrations, corporate gatherings, and nonprofit events. The club hosts one wedding per day, and all events are available to members and member-sponsored clients. Wedding packages include on-site planning with a certified wedding planner, a day-of coordinator, a bridal suite, champagne toast service, a dance floor, and full table service with china, glassware, and linens. The property also features an 18-hole golf course designed by Devereaux Emmet, five American red clay tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

The Dutchess Manor was originally built as a private residence for the Timoney family in the 1860’s and was a show piece Hudson River estate of the period. Our current catering business has been in constant successful operation, under the guidance of the Coris family, since the mid 1940’s.
