Prouty Beach & Campground sits on 36 acres along the shore of Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vermont, with views across the water to downtown Newport. Just off I-91 and less than a mile from Main Street, the park is a longtime local favorite for both day visits and overnight stays, offering more than 75 tent and RV campsites alongside a beachfront cabin that sleeps four with a full bed, bunk beds, a small table, a refrigerator, and a microwave. For gatherings, the beach-side pavilion puts guests right on the water, with power, a large charcoal cooking pit, and more than a dozen picnic tables suited to company parties, family reunions, and outdoor picnics or barbecues in the spring, summer, and fall; optional tent sides help protect the space if the weather turns. A smaller 30x30 tent shelter with six to eight picnic tables is available for rent from June through September, set near the park's restrooms, playground, tennis, and basketball courts. Beyond its event spaces, the park includes docks and a swimming area, horseshoe pits, a disc golf course, walking paths, shuffleboard courts, and four tennis courts, plus on-site washers and dryers, hot showers, and free Wi-Fi for overnight guests. Primitive sites along the Newport Recreational Bike Path also serve backpackers and bikepackers traveling the seven miles to the Canadian border.

Centrally located along the mouth of the Clyde River, Gardner Memorial Park is a 20-acre community park in Newport, Vermont and one of the city's best-known gathering spaces. The park has hosted the Vermont State Men's & Women's Softball Championships since 1976 across its five softball and baseball fields, soccer field, basketball court, pickleball court, and lighted roller hockey rink, making it a regular site for local and regional tournaments. Beyond athletics, Gardner Park is a hub for community events. The Newport Area Concert Band performs free summer concerts every Thursday evening at the park's bandstand, and the Newport Farmer's Market sets up beside the bandstand every Wednesday and Saturday from May through summer, offering produce, goods, and handmade crafts from local vendors. The park also hosts the July 4th Celebration, Winter Festival, and Spring Carnival. Picnic tables, a pavilion, and a playground are available for family outings, and the riverside setting draws visitors for fishing and kayaking. In winter, the park transforms into an ice skating facility with a Hockey Rink for stick-and-puck and a Rec Rink for public skating, complete with free skate rentals, hot cocoa, and restrooms at the on-site Skate Shack. A state-of-the-art concrete skatepark, rebuilt in 2013, rounds out the park's year-round offerings. Groups planning school trips, birthday parties, or tournaments are asked to call the park office ahead of time to coordinate space.
Armory Gymnasium

Located on the main floor of the Newport Municipal Building at 222 Main Street in Newport, Vermont, the gymnasium is a versatile public space used for sports, practices, games, and community gatherings throughout the year. It hosts basketball leagues, yoga and fitness classes, and pickleball, and opens to the public for open-gym use Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when not otherwise reserved. For private events, the gymnasium can be rented by the hour, for a half day, or for a full day, with bulk-use discounts available for groups booking ten or more reservations. A dedicated "Birthday in a Box" package outfits the space for children's parties (pre-K through third grade) with four hours of gym time, a bouncy house, play equipment such as a slide and see-saw, and mats, tables, and chairs.

The Gateway Center is a banquet hall on the shore of Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vermont, with views across the water toward Owl's Head and the Canadian mainland. Glass doors along the building's north side open onto wraparound balconies, giving guests lake views right from the reception space. Operated by Newport Parks & Recreation, the Gateway Center comfortably holds up to 75 people and is available for rent year-round, making it a fit for business meetings, private parties, and other celebrations. Rental of the space includes use of the facility itself along with tables, chairs, and the on-site kitchen, which is equipped with two refrigerator/freezer units, a propane range, an electric stove and oven, and a stainless steel double sink. The Gateway Center is offered as a basic hall rental: linens, dishware, cutlery, and event staff or planners are not included, and renters arrange these separately.
