The Clarkston Community Center is a nonprofit event and community gathering space housed in a repurposed early-20th-century school building in Clarkston, Georgia. Founded in 1994, the center serves one of the most culturally diverse communities in the United States, connecting longtime residents with newly arrived families and refugees through arts, education, wellness, and cultural programming. The facility offers more than 10,000 square feet of indoor event space, including Angora Hall — a 2,900-square-foot room with vaulted exposed-beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, a curtained stage, and a baby grand piano — alongside smaller rooms suited for meetings and workshops. The turn-of-the-century architecture and hardwood floors give the building a distinctive character well suited to ceremonies, performances, receptions, and cultural events. Born in Osaka, Tomo Naito came to the US to study theatre direction at queens college. During his stay in Manhattan, Tomo worked at local Japanese, French, and Italian restaurants. After graduation Tomo took a job working for a Japanese trading company where he sourced the highest quality seafood from the Japanese markets. He developed a superb eye for quality and love for amazing ingredients. Tomo soon realized that his true passion lay in the kitchen and began his quest to become one of the worlds leading minds in the world of contemporary Japanese cuisine. Tomo's unique and extensive skills soon landed him in Las Vegas working in the famed Nobu. Here he was able to take his extensive skills to the next level by working the "omakase" station creating inspired tasting menus for the Vegas elite. Tomo Naito, who was born in Osaka, Japan, moved to the United States to pursue theatrical direction at Queens College. During his time in Manhattan, Tomo worked in a variety of restaurants, including Japanese, French, and Italian. Following graduation, Tomo accepted a position with a Japanese trade organization, where he was responsible for sourcing the highest-quality seafood from Japanese markets. He acquired an exceptional sense of quality and a passion for extraordinary ingredients. Tomo quickly recognized that his true interest was in the kitchen, and he embarked on a journey to become one of the world's foremost authorities on contemporary Japanese cuisine and gastronomy in general. Building the first component of what would eventually become Naylor Hall for H.W. Proudfoot and his wife, Euphemia, in the 1840s, Barrington King designed it as a four-room clapboard house with a central fireplace, which was later expanded. Mr. Proudfoot was engaged as an accountant by Mr. King, the son of the city of Roswell's founder, in his recently constructed Roswell Mills facility. Colonel Harrison Broadwell acquired the property in the late 1930s and renamed it Naylor Hall in honor of his wife's family, which is still the name of the building today. Aside from that, he made a number of changes that may still be seen today, including the columns, carved woodwork, and a portico that wraps around the original structure. Naylor Hall is still making history today, well into the twenty-first century, with each and every event that takes place on Canton Street. Lady Naylor Hall, who is 170 years old and a southern beauty, has had her tummy tucked and her thighs tucked in order to greet the millennium.
