Founded in 1966, the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News combines a zoo, aquarium, science center, and planetarium under one roof, home to more than 1,100 native species representing every region of Virginia. The Military Aviation Museum sits on a private grass airfield in Virginia Beach, home to one of the world's largest collections of flying vintage military aircraft from the WWI and WWII eras.
